Who's got that OP starting location? Spill the tea!
Been struggling to make it past the day ~5 rush so far. Currently looking around for a starting location with a nice tall, skinny building for my initial HQ. Has anyone found a spot they really like? I kept trying to start on the west end of Coney Island but I'm not too impressed with it.

I've found one around the University of Glasgow which genuinely is OP, it's got a good amount of resources nearby!

Santa Cruz, California. There's a center tile that is perfectly protected by a river and you have easy access to plenty of large buildings.

Santa Cruz sounds dope, I know nothing of Glasgow really but I will definitely check it out. I've been a bit disappointed with some of the other locations I checked. I tried to check out Okinawa Japan but it just doesn't look anything like it, the buildings seem to be the same style all around the globe which is a bit of a let down.

Also checked out parts of San Diego but seemed to get a weird glitch at Imperial Beach, some of the buildings were like lightning bolt shaped lmao. And there was a super market that was about 5-6 blocks long but only 1 block wide. Clairemont was boring and... not really Clairemont.

You seem quite mad indeed.

Yeah, there's several instances where thegame will clump together complexes of structures and it's all one thing. For instance there's a building where it's entirely a liquor store in game but IRL it's a building with several stores. Essentially the game can't recognize malls or strip-shops very well.

mine was the complete opposite of OP: i started in my old house from my young child years in Recife. and altough i know every nuke and cranny of the neighbourhood to this day (schools, police stations,Pharmacies, bakery stores), the game is kicking my butt super bad.

it said that it used to be a very populated area in the past: which is true, Recife metro is 3 Million people of population. but i didn't expect to struggle so much to kill the zombies, given how there is ONE police station per neighbourhood and the map envelops 4 (with one being on the very edge of the map, so the police station of there was off limits). there isn't shortage of Food, medicine, or home centers with tools, but the weapons are really nowhere to be seen. realistic i'd would say given how Brazil has a strong anti-gun policy. problem is...the infected are roaming the streets... sooooo....

(also, i have NO idea how anyone would survive in that area or anywhere in Brazil for that matter, given Bunkers and Underground shelters are things unheard of here).

My town also has very few "Police" style buildings, however I had many suburban houses to pillage and every now and then you get good stuff from those. I found that grabbing a large headquarters building is a great idea; the game does not tell you that you initially only have PART of the huge building as your HQ and can eventually retrofit into the entire building so that you can field more squads.

I had that problem when I tried Glasgow. No guns. The university buildings were really cool, it actually got me on google maps looking at the real University of Glasgow. But yeah it was pretty realistic. TONS of research books, not much of anything else.
Hopefully your Recife survivors got to eat some brigadiero before they passed :D

I tried Tower of London and it was great for the first few days. Plenty of buildings behind medieval walls. Salvaged one wall section and choke pointed it with towers. But at some point, the walls glitch and zombies start walking right through them.

Vatican City. Has walls, research, the Swiss Guard.

Don't know about OP in general, but the recommended map in Dijon, France had so many book stores that I had 44 research points by day 2.
