Frequently Asked Questions [FAQ]
  • What is Infection Free Zone?
Take charge of a group of survivors from your city. Choose your base of operations, then rebuild and readapt the buildings around you to create a self-sustaining settlement. And when the night falls - Defend the zone from the infected! Play on ANY CITY IN THE WORLD, using real geographical data!
    Steam - https://store.steampowered.com/app/1465460/Infection_Free_Zone/

  • Can I become a beta/alpha tester?
Kickstarter and BackerKit backers have access to the alpha/beta tests. Both campaigns are now over.

  • Is it possible to support Infection Free Zone to play the full version?
Not yet. Follow the news and you will be informed about the upcoming events related to the game!

  • What's the release date?
We will do everything we can to release the game as soon as possible. But that probably won't happen before the second quarter of 2024, April 11 2024 .

  • When another demo?
Until the release of the game, there may be playtests for a closed group of testers, but nothing is certain!

  • Is Infection Free Zone a direct continuation to 112 Operator?
112 Operator takes place in a realistic setting of the modern world. That being said, The Last Duty DLC might be considered an alternative timeline. And to this alternative timeline events, Infection Free Zone is a direct continuation to. But it's not an official sequel to 112 Operator.

  • What are the main differences between 112 Operator's gameplay and Infection Free Zone's gameplay?
While 112 Operator is more of an emergency services management simulator, Infection Free Zone is more of a mixture between a strategy and a city builder (or even a re-builder), with additional emphasis on story-telling. Players will have to scavenge the resources, explore abandoned buildings, adapt them to their needs and create a safe settlement (a so-called "Zone").

  • And then of course we have to defend this Zone from the infected, who will mainly swarm us during the night. The game won't be split into duties, introducing continuous gameplay, but the distinguishable differences between the day/night gameplay are going to be present.

  • Is Infection Free Zone developed by the same team as 112 Operator?
Yes! And we are proud to announce that we have some of the veterans back, who were working previously on 911 Operator, a prequel beloved by a huge chunk of the community!

  • Can you add multiplayer to the game?
At this point, it's not really possible. The game's architecture wasn't made with multiplayer in mind and adding co-op would require at least an additional full year of development. Instead, we want to focus on making the best single-player experience possible.

  • Is it going to be possible to play on a map of my city?
The answer in most cases is - yes! Infection Free Zone is based on the Open Street Map data and if your city is well-mapped in OSM, then you can also expect to be able to play there. But in case it is not - we are working on preparing some modding tools for the players, so they can correct the map on their own and add the missing buildings.

  • Do you plan on adding different human factions to the game?
Yes, we do! We don't want to spoil the story for you, but you can absolutely expect to encounter other groups of survivors in the game. And not all of them are going to be friendly.

  • Do you plan on adding a weapon swap option for squads?
Absolutely! The demo was based on the pre-alpha version of the game, but we certainly plan to add a lot of missing features, including equipment swapping, demolition, repair, gates, and adding reliable ways of acquiring new survivors. Several new things are to meant to be added!

  • Do you plan on selling more Steam Keys on Xsolla?
We're sorry but we're not able to add any more keys. Steam was kind enough to give us the ones they did and we're grateful for that. Those who weren't able to buy the super early access copies need to wait for the official Early Access release in 2024.
Don't worry, it will pass faster than you think - nathalie.ross on Steam

The Super Early Access has their price point on it still, for reference but can be subject for change.

I know you said its too hard to add (or something like that), yet Coop would be incredible.
Even if indirectly, like having a friend in a neighbour city, can send an expedition to my area or allowing us to exchange materials and stuff.

Thats quite a lot.
I thought its going for about half of that. If so, it might go from instant day one buy to "wait a year until its 50% off".

it is not a lot the game is great and the devs spent a lot of time making it and this price is fair

Subjective and videogames are so inflated in value, you often get them half the price a month later.
I like the prologue, but it depends on many factors whether it can play in a 30€ price range. Thats pretty much the segment of games like Vermintide, Helldivers or other games with high production value.

I expected it to be around 11-14€.

Bad attempt to tell that its so overly unique.
It really isnt.
I appreciate them trying to set the game apart from similar ones and it has interesting quirks going for it, but its generally just your everyday survival city builder.
You find plenty alike and it has a lot of competition in general.

Hope it releases with a solid discount and bundle deals. Because i would like to play it as i like the real world map implementation. Even if basic.
