Nope.
The thing is 11 days is a long time frame. Multiple things could have happened.
Some of the squads got assigned/worn some and they got removed. You also could have switched out for gates, towers etc some assault rifles.
This is really not much to go on. You could have also accidentally misplaced them without noticing. (Aka armed a squad with them taken to a house/shelter and dropped it there.)
Send in a bug report, and prolly Rider will ask for save games.
I would suggest to post the save game for day 15 and day 26, and if you have one a save game from either 20th or 21st day. (That way monitoring progress of item "disappearance" could be more noticeable)
One thing to note. If you made new squads, they will take away for some reason the better weapons. I know cuz i keep switching their weapons to pistols and shotguns manually;)
If for some reason there is one AR in their inventory then 3 additional get removed along with the weapons already assigned to the squad at creation.
This bug stops mid play through, around 70+ days for some reason.
The assignment logic for squads is very finicky. As in the criteria is not very clear. Like many times they get assigned a pistol when there are better weapons available. This problem also disappears mid play through and only advanced weapons are picked.
Yeah its nonsense bugs and systems like these that make me so enraged about this game. The developers have some serious problems constructing solutions.
I blame it on unity:P
1. linked to weapons research tree so it does not consider player having those weapons before subsequent research being completed. Which would be too stupid a criteria if it is really so.
2. there is a script that runs to check the existence of advanced weapons in inventory much like a switch. This script gets frequently missed or stuck in a deadlock and only later game gets the chance to run regularly.
Notice that when a squad was being created before this system came along, they were assigned weapons and armour automatically. I fathom that system still exists and gets applied to the new squads under this new system as well, just that the new system's hook is later than the old system so both weapons get assigned.
This happens because of missing or incomplete assignment validations. A common problem in small teams.
Though there is at least one rule that is applied most likely due to resolution of some other bug which prevents duplicate weapon assignment to same slot. So the partial assignment gets to not consume the 4 ARs again.
No, I blame it on their small size and budget. Most likely their team lacks testers and project managers who can keep track of existing systems, error scenarios and guide the developers. Scarce few developers have such calibre to manage it all on their own.
Don't want to sound rude, but with the SAAS model so widespread, testers are basicly non-existant. There are no actual testers for games for a long while now.
You can actually notice how after 2010, or more like 2013-4 more and more games started to become a buggy mess requiring constant patches, bugfixes and so on.
EA, and some additional practices, like open alpha, beta and such tests usually were made to "crowd-source" this. However what they did not take into account, was that most of the players are unable to articualte their issues properly, they get spammed by the same issues a lot, and many times valid reports get lost, because they are lost in the tons of replies. (Of course not all necessarily applies to all games...but check out BG3. I know how many say how awesome and etc it is, but check how many patches, bugfixes etc it received, how many inconsistencies are still in the storyline etc.)
edit: I know EA-s objective is more to secure additional finance, i am just saying that also it has other dimensions, and one of the dimensions is the "public testing".
edit2: I also learned during my application analyst/tech analyst that most of the project and product managers have not much clue about the product, and that they are often unable to actually articualte what they hear from their customers. :P
Based on what you wrote I am getting the impression that:
1. Weapons could disappear if they get auto assigned to a tower and then swapped out to lesser weapons?
2. Weapons and armor could disappear when they auto assigned at squad creation and then swapped out to other weapons and armor?
I am pretty sure I had both scenarios occur in my play through but I hope it is not working as intended. Losing top tier weapons/armor that is automatically assigned due to swapping to a lesser weapon/armor in order to conserve resources is a pretty bad model.
