The horde spawn 3 group but the quest stuck at 2/3 and just ended when I left the area.

For everyone struggling with this Bug(s). This is an scientific acurate and completely empirical study on how to get passed it.

tl;dr: try over and over again

By trying ~40 times and restarting the mission 3 times I finally finished it. In the wake I discovered 5 different bugs.

Bug A) Squads won't drive to the outer tile of the meeting point. There are three possible and reliable workarounds:

- If the adjacent area that you have to pass to get there are still marked with a grey question mark, go there and discover it first (you don't have to loot it).
- Click precisely on the Exclamation mark directly, not in the broader area.
- Sent the squad to another outer tile. When they are on their way, change their destination to the target tile.

Bug B) Kills are not recognized for the objective

1) The first time I got the mission in a tile in the north. I saved just before I entered the tile. I sent in 2 Squads. Reloaded and sent them again. Both time 0/3 kills where recognized.

2a) I reloaded the savegame from before I got the first call and now I am invited to a tile in the south. I sent in two squads, reloading the savegame just before entering that tile. Number of kills recognized 1,1,1,2,1,2,0,0,0,0,1,1,0 /3. Which makes a chance of ~1/4 of a Kill actually getting recognized and a 1/50 chance for 3/3.

2b) Then I sent in a single squad better equipped with a truck. Recognized kills where 2,2,0,1,1,1,2,2. A ~1/2 chance of a kill getting recognized and a 1/10 chance for finishing the objective.
At least one time also a pack of dogs was spawned.

3) I reloaded again from before the start of the mission and now I was sent to the East. I sent in one well equipped squat. Recognized kills where: 2,2,1,0 and finally 3/3. Recognition factor 1/2, with a 1/7 total success chance.
Although one time 4 hordes where spawned.

All battles where in the Night, Attempt 2a and 2b in full moon night.

I conclude that nothing is certain, but it appears, that single squad actions have a higher probability of kills getting recognized. It seems like the restarting the mission does not significantly affect probabilities.

What worked: trying over and over again.

What didn't work:

i) Luring neighboring hordes into the meeting area: It is possible to lure hordes from adjacent areas to the target point, both my attempts where not recognized.

ii) Using a benevolent Bug (C). When I reloaded into the night with a Squad being positioned in an outer area, there was a 1/2 chance that there is a horde spawned in there, that wasn't there before. Apparently after reload the Squad was considered jut entering the tile, regardless how long it stayed there already. This way you can spawn hordes at the meeting point by simply reloading after clearing it. However, none of 7 kills where recognized.

Bug D) Hordes straightly leave the tile. When I once entered the tile without cars, the squads where to slow to draw attention to all three spawned hordes. One of them directly left the tile. Since entering the area without cars is not a good idea, I was not able to find out if killing the runaways in a different tile would be recognized.

Bug E) Leaving ends the Quest. Therefore it's already enough to move away your last squad from the meeting point. You don't even have to leave the tile.

They mostly come out at night. Mostly.

I had to wait for the 3 hordes to unburrow from the ground at nighttime to kill them
