@Ranzera, can you share more details about the playthrough where it popped for you? What difficulty where you on? Did you see the achievement bar progress, or did it stay 0/24 until it was awarded? Did the achievement behave like `Seasoned Survivor` achievement does which counts days across multiple playthroughs or did you have too complete it in a single playthrough?
I did it in a single playthrough, my first playthrough since trying the demo months ago. I noticed that I only got achievement progress updates when I fully exited the game, though I did get the achievement to pop right on day 25.
I did the playthrough in Edinburgh Scotland, taking note of Spiffing Brit's strategy of holing up in the castle for the very hard achievement. I took advantage of the natural walls inside the castle and just spammed towers where all the infected funnel themselves to get in.
I cranked the difficulty down to easy (max resources, max pop, tiny hordes) because I just wanted to mostly fast forward through it. Incidentally I got the governor achievement in the same playthrough.
I haven't gotten around to Seasoned Survivor yet, though I'll probably do that on the same map as that map is straight busted in terms of lootable armor and police stations. The pathfinding is diabolical though and some buildings cannot be looted by a squad that uses a vehicle at all. You can get around it by driving the vehicle out and ditching the vehicle with the UI. You'll have to watch the unit or they'll start walking to base when the fill inventory >.>
ETA: Maybe it's not important, but I didn't have the story or tutorial enabled when I did this playthrough.
@Ranzera, thanks for the info! The note about the achievement progress updates is really helpful! I just got mine to move to 1/24 by starting a new game, playing a day and exiting to main menu. On my last game, I was trying to knock out both `Seasoned Survivor` and `No walls` in one run, I got Survivor on like day 16 because it was my second save game on Very Hard and had 8 days of progress from my first game. The thing is that I had built walls in that first game and then realized I very hard felt easy enough on the map that I was on (not Spiffs map, however credit to him for introducing me to this game) that I could conceivably get both achievements in one game which is why I started the second game to go after both.
Anyways, I think `No Walls` might be (or was before today's patch) bugged in the same kind of way as `Seasoned Survivor` is in the sense that games leak into each other, but in the case of `No Walls`, you can lock yourself out of progress by having the last game you played and didn't finish be one with walls built. I made it to over day 30 with no walls on that second game and saw zero progress on the achievement.
Thankfully your tip about how to update the achievement progress gives me some hope that I'm finally out of this bug. Though, I'm not sure if me being out of the bug state is on account of the latest update or because the last thing I did was "finish" a game by letting all my survivors die.
Glad I could help :)
> An issue with some achievements tracking progress across all save files instead of one specific game has been fixed.
So yeah guessing it was the patch that got me out of this bug.
When I saved and exited, it updated to day 19. So you have to complete the day, so it should trigger on day 25 when you save and exit.
As our lord and saviour of all game exploits, The Spiffing Brit would say!
At day 25 it showed 24/25 when doing the same, so it needs to be a *full* day.
