Possible simple solution to the wood problem.
I am not a Dev I have no idea what it takes to make stuff happen in games. So I can't say for sure this is the end all be all for a simple fix right now. I went looking to see if I could edit anything for the wood like a simple config and Im not familiar with the files its above my paygrade so I gave up lol.

I am playing on the Washington Dc map and to double check I have a New York City map open now to check skyscrapers. After checking both maps, I think it's safe to say after comparing both maps that the biggest buildings/skyscrapers have a fixed amount from deconstruction-usually 1499 in storage, 500 wood, 600 metal and 900 bricks.

I think the lowest is sheds and that is between 3-5 wood then a few of the rest too I didn't write down those numbers its a general ballpark for the rest.

A simple solution would be to edit the amounts that you get from deconstructing and to raise up the storage on the biggest buildings if you choose the make them warehouses/HQ's. So instead of 1499 make it 2000-2500. And a skyscraper with only 500 wood? 1500-2000 makes more sense. Instead of 600 metal it should be 900-1000 and bricks can stay were they are LMAO nobody needs those at least yet especially with the brick piles all over.

Even a small house should have about 75-100 wood with all the framing joists etc. The medium houses about 150 and so on. A shed should have about 15-25 minimum. I understand there are longer term solutions in the works. As a person who has no idea if this could work because Im not a coder is this possible?

Anything's possible in the world of software development! 😊 If you raise those limits, you'll also get more brick and metal, so... Def also add the ability to prioritize salvage type and/or give us a way to dump excess materials. Or, plant/regrow trees? Mobile work teams?
Do not bother to muck about the files - if you truly want to work the amounts you can use the Console Editor and use Command AddResource - it gives it to Building or HQ....you then click the appropriate resource type; Ammo, Brick, Metal, Food, Drug, Pistol, Rifle, etc. and then add the amount and if its the building you will need to close editor and then click the buliding you want to put it in....if its HQ, it should add it to the HQ/Warehouse if you have room

Sky scrapers aren't generally built with wood. You might find desks and tables, but often they aren't wood either (eg. glass tables or chipboard desks).

Being able to grow our own trees would be a huge help, as would having ability to harvest woods from off-map forests during expeditions.
Empire state building has a lot of wood. True not for the framing and it's not built out of wood obviously. Sill they have a lot of spaces with hardwood floors and things like that. It is used for trim and accents of all kinds.

We are playing a zombie game we have to suspend belief just a bit. Im not expecting realism, just trying to figure out a easy way to possibly get more wood.

The wood you get on shacks and houses is criminal. I agree, 100% needs too be upped.
