Gather a couple of the other squads right outside (do NOT order them in yet) and once they are all in place, send them in together.
Raider will whine, you tell them to let your guys go, and a shootout happens.
If you have 3-4 armed squads, you should not have losses at all.
So you should be able to load up food into the squads, and bring it with you. Can't say I tried, because I did what everyone else is saying and accepted the ransom terms, and then showed up with two squads packing pistols, and my assault squad with rifles. Fight didn't last long.

I almost started laughing when he asked me to send more food and another unarmed squad. That was literally the stupidest thing he could do.
Did he really think for a second the next squad going in wasnt going to be armed to the teeth??
Realistically, in prisoner exchanges, you give them what they want when they actually deliver what you want. If they couldn't trust you to keep your end of the bargain the first time, why would they trust you the second time?
this event happened to over 200 000 people so far.
90% brought weapons.
only 4% brought resources and decided to trade
only 3% found an alternate solution
83% chose violence.
10% came with no weapons, out of which 1% came with no weapons again :D
I guess it is the law of the wasteland :D
Tbf if this was realistic, they would have had our squad at gunpoint and the moment they saw another coming in armed, they would have warned them that if they enter, they kill the hostages, rather than let us set up the fight properly.
If i am remembering correctly, there is a followup event to save them or leave them to die when they call for help b/c of a zombie seige on their house. Unfortunately i already searched that house so it broke
I am a nice person, just dont act like a bully. <3
