i am doing .6 on the horde setting and its waves and waves before i can even get my towers up they destroy the wooden tower in like 1 sec when there's 15 hordes on it.
settings = custom map, 50 ppl , 1.3 resources, .6 horde

Which I agree with since sniper fire is for long range and would be useless in Close quarters..
However, the ability to use 2 weapons or a mixture of weapons. You can build your squad with:
Assault Rifles & pistol/sword,
Shotgun & Pistol/sword,
Flamethrowers & Pistol/sword,
Sniper rifles & Pistol/sword
Assault Rifles & Grenade
Maybe we get a Machine Gun type guys (1 guys to carry ammo, the other to carry the machine Gun. (so a squad would need 2 slots for this type of unit, or could be only available on pickup trucks/Trucks/SUV's/RV's. Just a thought here.
I also hope they give shotgun, grenades, flamethrowers, tank rounds "AOE" since that's what they are design for. (MG's).
Note: I know I'm a little chatty here:
The new Atlanta Map is tough on hard level. The hordes don't take long to take down a fence/wall even a 6 man gate. I wondered if they changed the rate of fire for the Rifle? (gonna do some testing today).
I am also going to try and slow the horde down by building bared wires before they hit the walls give my towers time to shot them before they hit the walls, this work well on easy...
Note 2: Going to suggest this, not a bug but a visual effect. When you get the "!" to go to a location and do whatever, sometime the building needs to be scouted and you get the blue bar at the bottom of the unit(squad) well the "!" icon blocks it where as you can't see the progression. It needs to be move to the top of the unit(squad) icon so it doesn't get blocked.
Click on the building then, has a progression bar in it
Optimal solution...let us create as many squads as we want. I had 2 wooden towers, 1 metal gate (bc workers keep getting trapped inside construction projects, reported) and 5 squads. Completely overrun by an ENDLESS stream on night 8

Get an extremely limited map, have to cut out an extremely small play area out of "your city" and then it's basically 10 minutes clicking around and the games true nature of being a Tower Defence game is revealed each and every night. Regret buying it tbh.
If you're in a big city, lots of tall buildings can take forever to "Deconstruct" them unless you have 100 of people on them.
Gonna try something, not unlocked but I want to see how that effects the hordes, I think I tired it and missed out on the results.
One thing I saw sneaky, There is a horde way out of range of your guns; constantly running back and forth; But out of nowhere or on the opposite side of your camp here comes the 5+ horde that you were not watching until they're almost on your walls.. sneaky sneaky sneaky....
OK; I know this is in testing, I think the solution is Grenades/shotguns and flamethrowers, well besides the tank..:)..
If the 4 items have an Area of Effect radius when attacking, meaning hitting more then one creature at a time. When my message above said I was going to do some testing to see if that was a way to stop large hordes - well, not sure since I believe its not really working like intended, meaning the routines are not in or functioning yet.
The Sniper Rifle is great for long range firing but does little damage base on the number if you look at them I don't mind that (sort of)) Considering a Sniper Rifle is a long range 1 shot 1 kills (ahem). but they are cool and useful in skyscrapers.
The Assault Rifle is quick firing does the right amount of damage that ok.
The Shotguns - (well, its not working right yet) It shoots like the sniper rifle with same reload and distance and does more damage then the Assault Rifle. (this really should be the sniper rifle. The Shotguns should be reduced to 50 with AOE effects its just for clearing out room and holding point defense.
The Grenade and Flamethrower act like shotguns - too bad, I would love to see things blow up..:) but the grenade should have a range of 75 with AOE, the flamethrower maybe 25 AOE (high damage 200) reload 6.
I'm saying this because I think maybe that's how they want you to stop these mass hordes... just assuming....
