It does get a bit wild at present, but I feel like that's mostly down to not having any sustainable, dependable way to procure wood. 1 wood per 4-5 rations isn't *wild*, I feel like.
120 pops require 30 rations - if you're cooking meat meals, that's "just" 6 wood per day. That's not *bad*, as such, except that the only 'reliable' way to get more wood outside of the first week or so is by demolishing vacant buildings, which bloats your warehouses with metal and brick because of their 1:1:1 yield. </3
If you're manufacturing fuel (for cars and ammunition), tools, etc. it gets even worse.
And on TOP of that constant drain on your wood stocks, wood is ubiqitous in *all* construction / adaptations, with the sole exception of brick walls, metal fences and barbed wire. You almost literally need wood for *everything*.
So I'm super stoked to hear that the devs are taking note! 10/10
I see a house which provides me 10 woods(also bricks and metals, too), and it requires 12 woods to adapt it into a shelter. Maybe they need some wood to make extra beds but I think it needs to be more balanced.
I think it will be more pratical if the yield for wood is 4 or 5/1/1
Yeah, that's kind of where I'm leaning towards too. A higher yield of wood from demolishing buildings would honestly be a pretty good bandaid measure, without being over-reliant on a currently non-existent sustainable wood-production feature.
How do i tear down buildings? Cant seem to find the UI button.... nvm its a storyline thign
The fact this game is running smoother than most full releases hypes me completeley
