Final Fantasy X-2, after Tidus is gone, she gets to be a free spirit she always wanted to be and for the first time in her life he lives for herself - she was always famous in X, in X-2 she is the Super Star that saved the world.
The people that trash FF X-2 are people just like you, who only see the superficial "short short, flirty girl" and never got to understance the nuances in the story. You at least got that the game is themed around Water, and that the "Lake Scene" where Tidus and Yuna "Swim" is actually a metaphor for her losing her virginity, right?
Cloud admits, openly, he is obsessed with Sephiroth - maybe you should just play the game again. He literally says "Blaming it on Mako and Jenova was an excuse, the problem was within himself the whole time" in the Airship speech, where he ask for everyone forgiviness for acting like garbage the whole game, lying to everyone about everything. You literally got to play inside his head to see that he is repressing the truth. He even talks about his "Obsession for chasing Sephiroth lead to many of the mistakes" - he blames himself for aerith's death, because his obsession in chasing Sephiroth leads to her death.
I had to give you a list of female Antagonists because you though Ultimecia was the only female.
And you jumped into the conclusion that I was saying I had a problem with men being in too many powerful roles.
Your clearly don't know enough Final Fantasy, or have the maturity to have a discussion about this. And it's clear Sephiroth was a role model for you, that is why you completely ignored anything else I said about the "CREATORS OF FFVII WANTING SEPH TO BE A FEMALE", and everything I said about Cloud Strife being a narcisist, compulsive liar, underachiever.
His town, that he always hated and felt shame going back as an underachiever infantry to a point he hid his face, was destroyed. His "best friend" had no idea he was in town, because he was hiding under a helmet. His mother, that he doesn't even mention besides one or two flashbacks, was left behind by him in lied to, as he lied to everyone, his whole life. Sure, Cloud has PTS from the awful things that happened that day, anyone would, but in all his flashbacks are not about the town - they are all conflicts, inside his own mind, because he has been living a lie.
He wanted so hard to believe he was a Soldier, he ended up believing in his own lie. Even the name, Cloud, speaks a lot about him. That is his Arch: from being a spoiled child who hated his life and only cared about himself, to underachieve and never reach his goals, to go back home and feel so ashamed that he used a mask to hide his identity, to be a FAILURE test subject after being kidnapped, to lose his mind and get confused assuming he is Zack, to be an impostor, arrogant, nihilistic, merc pretending to be a Soldier when deep down he always knew he wasn't - that is the flashbacks, his mind trying to set him free and finally, after he drown in Mako, he finally gets to accept reality, and finally get in touch with his friends for real this time, not as a cloud, but as a flawed person like everyone else instead of the "Super Hero Persona" he carried on for the whole game.
And they save the world.
And after that, he becomes a wanderer again, because the weight of his actions is too hard to bear so he isolates himself. It's Advent Children, where he goes thru another Arc, this time, of redemption and forgiving himself, coming back to his friends, and with his friends help, he gets to save the world again. The final showdown, between him and Sephiroth in AC, end up with the "Spirit of Sephiroth" dissolving, but everyone knows it is not over, and it will never be over: the world of Final Fantasy VII is about Lifestream, the primordial energy of the planet that every living thing is a part of, is born of, and turns into when they die.
"Doesn't matter how he was originally written. He was officially written as a man. Simple as that."
I can't believe I actually answered to someone who starts his argument saying "It doesn't matter what the creators of the game wanted to do, what matters is that the company decided to sell more action figures going against the creators wishes, making the villain as a male."
Thanks for the laughs.
All you said is "You are too good to be bothered to respond" and put words in my mouth - as I said, if you want to call yourself and idiot, you are free to do it. Just don't put words in my mouth, because I never called you an idiot.
And now I am blocking you, because I have no interest in fighting or reading your insults.
I haven't said anything about woke, and the only thing I said to you was "Nice background on your profile - soon it's gonna be a girl!".
If you read the OP, the idea of Seph as a woman isn't mine, it's from the creators of FFVII OG.
You are just parachuting into a discussion, and can't take a joke.
After you insulted me a few times, then run away like a little puppy. Not surprised. Most people on Steam forums are keyboard warriors who run and hide.
your whole post is woke trolling ..but regardless of what squaresoft/enix's plans were for sephiroth b4 official release is meaningless ...sephiroth is male & that is the official canon
so why is that a problem for u?
According to him, Sephiroth would be better as a female.
ikr ..where the hell do these people come from? & where do they get all these silly foolish notions
New age thinking, I guess. The same type of people who want black versions of every character for the sake of diversity over creating new characters that are black.
But it's laziness. Why create something new when I can just gender or color swap? Yep, that's easier.
As I said in OP, it has nothing to do with what people consider "Woke" or "Gender Equality".
The creators of Final Fantasy VII said they regret the fact that was a Corporate Decision that made Sephiroth a man, and not a woman.
Sephiroth is one of the most iconic Villains in video-game history, with an iconic Soundtrack aswell. Just like Darth Vader.
If you believe the post is trolling, you have the right to think what you want. I just took the time to respond to you that is a legit post.
Thanks for your input.
Please, don't take the argument that way again. Yes, I finished Baldur's Gate 3, and as someone who played a lot of D&D, and both Baldur's Gate game before, there were things in there I did not like: and one of them was the fact that the game release with the ACT 3 pretty much broken because they were too busy focusing on you customizing the type of genitalia of your character. I don't like how many jokes are considered offensive when they are just being fun. Specially the word, "Woke", triggers me, because in many cases it's forced representation.
"As a comedian would say, it's nice to have representation, but needing to have representation is artificial."
Again, this isn't what this topic is about.
I agree completely that Sephiroth is iconic as Darth Vader (I used this exact comparisson a few replies back). But I disagree that it would be a dumb move. This is a reinterpretation of the story, we don't know the plot and won't know until the third game closes.
But picture this:
Seph kills Aerith. I mean, one of his "walk-abouts", since he is dead'ish from the start, or if you watch Rick and Morty, he is in that episode where Rick "Makes Love" with a Planet.
What if, to torture even further mentally Cloud and his friends, he would manifest himself as a "dommy mommy AERITH, with a No-Dachi katana", just to "mind freak" the gang even further? Don't you agree, this twisted act, is something so evil and disgusting and in character with Sephiroth? And oh my oh my, how awesome it would look and how heartbreaking it would feel? How taunting and disturbing it would be, specially for Cloud, to deal with that? I'm not talking about a generic, disney move, unjustified. I'm talking about the ultimate act of disrespect towards her, the heir of holy, the last Cetra.
