FF7 remake is part 1 of the story. Rebirth is the part 2 to the story.
the first disc played the entire midgar sequence. when they leave and go to kalm you switched to disc2.
disc2 went from kalm to spoiler.
then disc 3 was everything from spoiler to the final part of the game.
'remake' is disc 1, and 'intergrade' is some added story on yuffie ninja adventures (not from the original ff7 story)
'rebirth' is disc 2, we'll probably see it on steam here whenever the childish exclusivity deal runs out.
and there will probably be a third part as well, which hasn't been released yet, and will 'probably' tie up the rest of the game.
doesn't include any other side stories they want to launch that aren't original canon.
all 3 together make 'final fantasy 7' 2024.
Disc one was the size of remake and rebirth put together.
The Remake trilogy:
Remake = Midgar
Rebirth = Kalm to Capital of Ancients
(Presumably) R3 = there until the end
Remake Intergrade (this game) is part 1 of a slated 3. Rebirth is the sequel to this game, part 2 of 3. Rebirth is unclear when a PC version will be released, it is, however, available on PS5 now.
Yes.
Bearing in mind, prequels generally are best experienced after going through the work that preceded them in production order (ie FFVII first, the CC Reunion, then Remake, then Rebirth).
Sometimes it is fun to then go back and do in universe chronological order, which should put Crisis Core first.
Keep in mind that Crisis Core is not really a Prequel to Remake, but the OG FF7. Without spoiling much Remake is some kind of Re-imagining/Time Travel/Multiverse thing. It very confusing to the point that we dont even know if Squenix has a clue how its meant to play out.
You CAN try and use it as a Prequel to this one, but some of the Story Beats may not end of matching. Basically just dont expect any Plot Threads to connect, but a lot of them also went no where since it never continued anyways.
So they can charge us three times as much.
For several times the game.
