FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE

FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE INTERGRADE

Sector 7 plate crash is not sad
FF7 fanatics were beating their chests telling all of us how the sector 7 plate crash was the saddest moment in Final Fantasy history next to Aerith's death. They were beating their chests telling us that we would be crying our eyes out while it was occurring when playing this remake. It was just a generic moment as any other and I was unmoved and unfazed by the event.

If you watch any streamer play that part and ch13 they all think it’s sad af, and the women often cry. Are you a robot?

It’s one of the defining moments in the original narrative. Highlighting Shinra as an actual threat to avalanche and the party.

Still is, it’s not even really debatable

wasn't really debating how people emotionally react will always very. Even if me or others don't have the emotional impact we understand the significance of it.

Still is, but “Remake” definitely made it worse.

By immediately just confirming a huge list of survivors

The Original had a lot more guts to actually have the plate have major consequences

It wouldn’t make sense for aerith to zip off to save marlene and not warn people.. like what lmao? Also if people are fighting around the pillar with choppers people are going to freak out and bail.. they know avalanche bombed 2 reactors and they know from sector 6 what happens when you drop a plate. People are going to panic for sure

All remake did was humanize and expand on the situation. A lot of people still lost their lives, the slums are massive as seen in chapter 6 from above. Very few of those made it out

Who died in OG's?

How long did we spend in Sector 7?

What consequences did the player face over it?

The entire sector is in ruins how is that not still a major consequence?

Its similar, but in the original they emphasize how many died during it.

In this "Remake" sequel, they almost immediately reassure you that everyone person who you probably know from the grind side quests is just fine (compared to being dead at least)

You have amount of deaths stated in the original, regardless of the number of the deaths the fact that Shinra went to the extreme of destroying a plate as a response to get rid of avalanche is th key take away. Even if more people survived they don't have a home anymore everything was destroyed.

Hey you and I agree on something. Cheers

Still, the event was unmoving and FAR from being the saddest moment in FF history. Amazing how so many FF7 fanatics were hounding us about how much we would all be crying during the event. It was just like any other evil event by a large antagonist organization, very cliche. Perhaps I find it hard to side with a group of eco-terrorists whos members all have mommy and daddy issues and a failed "Soldier" who pretends to be someone else? Did people cry when the Death Star from Star Wars destroyed Alderaan? Not at all, it was just a way to show the power of the Empire to add to the lore of Star Wars, and the people watching understood this - Shinra dropping the plate on the sector 7 was a similar event. I get it and it needed to be showed to reinforce the evilness of Shinra, but to say this was the saddest event in FF history and that we all will be crying our eyes out is ridiculous. More sad than Aerith's death? More sad than FFX? Lets be real here.

Why are you here lol

Sad in the context of people dying, but not sad to me personally. It's a video game. I don't get emotionally invested in entertainment like that. Sometimes I wish I could.

A close friend or family member to you dies. You're sad.

Any number of daily mass deaths/human suffering events are going on all the time and you're not affected the way that your close loved one's death did.

The plate falls. You don't care because you're not invested in anyone that was under it. Aeris/th gets kidnapped, that's a bigger deal. Aeris dies, "saddest moment in FF series." Multiple other FFs have entire populations being wiped out, and they don't compare.

It isn't about the death toll, it's about how much the player cares about the victims of and/or relates to the tragedy.

Sector 7 doesn't really matter to most of us.
