By immediately just confirming a huge list of survivors
The Original had a lot more guts to actually have the plate have major consequences
All remake did was humanize and expand on the situation. A lot of people still lost their lives, the slums are massive as seen in chapter 6 from above. Very few of those made it out
Who died in OG's?
How long did we spend in Sector 7?
What consequences did the player face over it?
In this "Remake" sequel, they almost immediately reassure you that everyone person who you probably know from the grind side quests is just fine (compared to being dead at least)
Hey you and I agree on something. Cheers
Why are you here lol
Any number of daily mass deaths/human suffering events are going on all the time and you're not affected the way that your close loved one's death did.
The plate falls. You don't care because you're not invested in anyone that was under it. Aeris/th gets kidnapped, that's a bigger deal. Aeris dies, "saddest moment in FF series." Multiple other FFs have entire populations being wiped out, and they don't compare.
It isn't about the death toll, it's about how much the player cares about the victims of and/or relates to the tragedy.
Sector 7 doesn't really matter to most of us.
