Maybe? Look through their forum, watch reviews.

Yes, totally worth it.

nah, it sucks. People who called Death Stranding walking simulator clearly never played this game. THIS is real walking simulator
It is pretty good. Appreciation could deepen if being familiar with FFVII, but not necessary to play/understand the broad strokes.
Original Final Fantasy 7 was probably my favorite game all time, from back in '97. Graphics and all that will feel dated now, I'm sure, but it's a great game. I played Remake on Playstation when it first came out, and aside from a little bit of uncertainty with the direction they were going, the changes they might make, it was still probably my favorite game that had come out in years at that time. Just bought it on PC and I'm waiting to get a controller before I play this version, so I can't speak to PC specific factors.

It's a great game, if you like jrpgs. I've seen a few people complain about the walky-talky aspect of it, but I personally love story, and I thought the main and main supporting characters were handled exceptionally well. I guess it depends on how much you like character development, conversation and exploration outside of combat in a non-open world type of game. It's more linear than a lot of modern games, and the interpersonal scenes can last for a good chunk of time. When it's well written, well realized, that's a plus for me, but your mileage may vary. There is a little bit of censorship that was increased later on and some modern corporate dei influence, which negatively impacts my opinion of it, but not nearly enough that I wouldn't recommend the game in this case.
I would recommend the OG FF7 for the full experience; if you like the retro turn based text RPG (this one is one of the best of all time). As for the remakes, it's alright, but you could just watch a Youtube let's play and almost get the same feel. The combat I personal was never really a fan of, but I played it mostly for the story and cut scenes.
If you are a FF Fan then it is definitely worth playing. If you are an JRPG fan or really like story driven games, then you will probably like this. If the answer to both those questions are no, then I would either wait for an insane sale, or pass on the game. The gameplay mechanics are good, but nothing so amazing that you can't miss it.

As for playing the original FF7. It will enrich this game, but I would say it is not necessary.

Not major plot spoilers, but spoilers.
WIth the Remake they are going for an alternate timeline "changing fate" so the events in the game may not match the original, but if you experienced the original game you would know what should have happened at certain points.

Just bought the same bundle. I've owned Remake since it came out on Epic but never got around to buying it on Steam.

u can get twin deluxe pack under $56 in Ukraine, that's a very good deal, I think it might even go to $40 ish on Dec 19th winter sale
If you plan to play Rebirth, then you should play Remake first.

The only exception is that if you played the original FFVII and just want to start from Rebirth. Then it's ok to skip Remake. It's not that different. Maybe go watch some playthrough or recap, to see who dies and who lives in this timeline.
The game is great. But whether its for you is a different story.

If you like this type of game "jrpg with action / turn-based elements, great story" then yes.

If you want a full on action game and care less about story, probably not for you. But, I would assume you don't care for jrpgs in general at that point.
question because im from the OG. whats the difference between intergrade (i have) and "remake" is the update next month the second section of the game? i can never get a straight answer

An absolute lie. While this has walking sections, it is nothing compared to Death Stranding. Don't mislead people interested in this fandom.
it's painfully mid. hopefully the 2nd one is better.

i've tried to play through this game 4 times now, and it's just a slog. FF7 was my first FF game and JRPG back in the day. taking what was a 3 hour part of the base game and stretching it over 40-60 hours was a terrible choice.

Granted, I've never really liked any of the FF7 extended universe beyond the first game. The movie turned it into an anime, Zack's game overexplained way too much while also over animefying it. Dirge of Cerberus was fun for a couple hours, but at least didn't try to re explain the core game.

They took a racehorce and beat it to death with nostalgia.
