Does this game have a turned based option?

I like FF7 because I can sit back and relax, but watching the trailers it seems action based and too involving for the kind of experience I want my JRPGs to be.... Just wondering if there is a turned based option or if it is all just action?

You could look up classic mode on youtube - it is a mode where the movement, auto attack and defend plays by itself and you focus on issuing just the command parts.

try the classic mode. u still move around but only give orders

I just search the classic mode and it isn't what I'm looking for. I'll just play the original instead, I was just hoping I could be able to turn on turn based but classic just makes the game ultra easy.

There is a materia combination that allows you to go afk and beat Ruby

yes it does, cloud can turn left and....sometimes when he's feeling freaky...he'll turn right.
