Anyone else having to redownload the entire game to get the update?
For some stupid reason Steam is making me redownload the entire game as it updates. Its taken hours to get the full game since the "update"
I know this is a Steam issue rather than game issue, but is anyone else getting this? Does anyone know a way of getting Steam to sort its ♥♥♥♥ out? Its not like I've somehow changed the installation path incorrectly or whatever, just Steam auto update ballsing up everything and wasting my time.

did you mean to post on the rebirth forum? i don't remember this game getting an update recently

either way, when you update some games it has to download the patch (rebirth's recent one was 17gb) and then it also has to unpack the installed game and patch it, so to do all that it requires a lot more disk space and depending on your drive speed and also the game and patch in question if it has a lot of files it can take a lot of time. on an nvme and a decent connection the whole thing should be very quick. a lot of people have been confused about the process and think it is downloading the entire game again which isn't the case unless something else is going on

but to answer your question, no, i have never encountered a problem where it had to download the whole game to patch it

Oh ffs how did I manage that? lmao...
It tends to happen every now and then on other games too but hasn't happened to me for a very long time, Warhammer 3 TW has a lot of players getting this problem for some reason. I'll have to make another post haha

Wasnt aware it was 17GB update either. WTF have they added???

Oh ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hell....the issue was me all along!!

I had uninstalled the game recently (remake I mean) and for some weird reason the game decided to reinstall...so I've been sat here all day waiting for a game that wasn't the one I was waiting to play....

JFC...dumb dumb me
lmao all good man.

to answer your question about the 17gb update, it will replace a bunch of game files to run better and faster, as well as a few other things. here's the info square gave us about it, looks like it probably touched a lot of files so that is why it is a large download
