Returns is a good guess because sephiroth intended to remake the events in his favour, then be reborn, and finally to return in all his newfound glory. it also has a nice ring to it, FF7: Returns.
I've seen a bunch of other good guesses too but i'll leave it at that for now
Sephiroth wouldn't be a good candidate for an anti hero or redemption arc. What I am rooting for is a rivalry between him and Jenova, both being villains vying for dominance. With the party caught up in the middle as an intended tool to tip the balance.
Rev sounds cool but you took it so.
Seph can't be redeemed. Advent Children is directly after this series.
He def wasn't redeemed there. Seph died. He's just haunting the life stream.
Like he's as dead as Aerith is in Advent. It's memetic memory. The memories of other people. He's an infection manifest by Jenova who is clearly Meteor at 2000 years ago home.
Like the heroes of that era failed. Jenova dropped. I wanna know who dropped her personally or if she just does this as a hobby. But she's very much Cloud of Darkness.
Given Cloud brings the black materia in og... FF7 was the first game to mention era's as a thing as far as I know. That's something FFXIV picked up pretty hard.
So she's basically Sephibaby with his memories since she's just all up in the life stream NOM
I also suspect it will be Return or Returns.
