However, if you are not planning on playing the original FF7 I would probably play Crisis Core first and then FF7 Remake. FF7 Remake's ending expect you to know the ending of Crisis Core. You also get to experience them in chronological order as FF7 starts where Crisis Core ends and hopefully you haven't been spoiled on Crisis Core's ending which you would have been if you have played the original FF7.
Why not play them in the order of FF7 Remake -> Crisis Core? Because unlike the original FF7, FF7 Remake does not show Cloud's backstory which Crisis Core spoils. This is because FF7 Remake is just the first part of a trilogy. The thing is that you probably want to pay Crisis Core before the next part in the trilogy so Clouds backstory is going to get spoiled either way.
While I think Crisis Core is important and I like it for Clouds and Zacks backstory, I do not think it is a good game. I really don't like the story parts of Genesis & Angeal, especially Genesis, I hate that character. Also, the gameplay is limited as it was originally a PSP game so don't expect big levels and great gameplay. It does have insane amounts of optional filler missions though that are unimportant, that's why it takes some 70 hours to 100%. If you enjoy it, great! But if you don't, just push through the story for the sake of FF7 and FF7 Remake, because those games ARE worth it. In my opinion of course. I'm sure there a people that love Crisis Core, I'm not one of them though.
It's a good game, and I really enjoyed it on PSP, but I wouldn't consider it necessary before FF7. A lot of what was added to it is very weak, and close to never referenced.
That being said, FF7 remake isn't FF7, it's different enough both in story and structure that you really don't even need to worry about trying to follow a strict storyline/canon before playing this game.
Advent Children takes place after the remake trilogy rather than the original.
Its Original First.
Then if you want any of the sequels (not that they are needed), you play Crisis Core, watch Advent Children, play Dirge of Cerberus, then Remake/Rebirth/Return on Investment.
This is TERRIBLE advice.
