Just curious, but this game stutters more than cyberpunk, batman and heck even resident evil 4 remake, I didn't need to do any settings but I have no idea what needs to change? Also I would rather not watch pixel deck, 20 minutes of boredom no thank you

You don't have the patience to watch/skim a 20 minute video? I've been using their settings for this game and it runs great.

I'm on chapter 2 and it's stuttering like crazy, I'm on steam deck and it's stuttering like crazy, trying to enjoy it but well hard to, the speech stutter more broken than cyberpunk

Ok watched it and I was right completely useless, the guy says use a proton that does not exist anymore, how this runs great on steam deck I'll never know why they lie, thank god cyberpunk works wonders, I don't wanna hate this game but with the constant stuttering it's impossible to love it, I'd wait for a patch but it's square enix, they've probably abandoned this game like they always do, it's a shame I can't refund it

I've put in a request for one, I'm hoping I get my money back for this mess, at least cyberpunk works, actually that has zero stutters and looks better, but mind square enix don't care for the fans this game is proof and CDPR care more, I knew I should have gotten the DLC for cyberpunk instead of this game, also I looked at the comments section of the video and it appears the video is just click bait, doesn't work for them too

Proton Experimental works fine (though the version in the video does still exist). The game can run consistently on SD. You are doing something wrong with your settings. So lets start there if they don't allow the refund.

Proton ge 7-20 doesn't exist, shall I ask steam to bring it back cause I can't find it, I've even checked on proton qt or whatever it's called and it's not there, also not the only one saying the video didn't work, looked on comments section but I guess we must be wrong

Ok can't get a refund for a broken game, but I've done more tweaking myself, also I'm not using nexus at all, I don't trust that site, if it stutters more I'm gonna thumbs down it, it's so far making mass effect andromeda look awesome

Proton GE 7-20 does still exist. I checked before I posted, but again use experimental. Are you gonna post your settings or keep complaining about a fixable issue?

How skilled are you on Linux?

A few things you can do to improve the games:

- Change the UMA Frame Buffer (via bios) to 4GB.
- Increase the Swap size to at least 8GB.
- Change the Kernel swappiness to 0 or 1.

This should provide some improvement and you can always revert the changes.
However it will not fix completely, since the game itself has optimisation problems.

I did those manually, but if you want an easy way use CryoUtilities[github.com]

Steam deck not linux, thankfully I've done chapter 2, still some minor stutters but not surprised, it's square enix, did some tweaks and it's doing okish, it crashes at start a few times but then works, don't care what the graphics look like just wanna have fun with the game, still believe this game needs a patch more than cyberpunk does, plus I don't own a linux

Steam Deck runs on modified Linux... Hiro gave good suggestions. And Proton GE 7-20 does still exist.
