FAILED TO SAVE DATA HELP!!

Considering he posted 4 minutes before you, I doubt it.

There should be an autosave every once in a while, but you can manually save virtually anywhere in the game at any time

I managed to fix the issue. The problems are caused by Virus and Threat Protection of Windows. You need to add an exception for "ff7remake_.exe"

yeah tried to save it manually it also gives me error on top left corner. "Failed to save data"

Okay, I didn't understand that from your OP, so that's my mistake.

I'm not sure why it would fail to save... This is a longshot, but is there room on your SSD/HDD where FF7R is installed? If there's no space for the save file to be made then maybe that's why it's failing?

Thanks. it didnt work the .exe thing. all i did was make an exception for the whole folder. cheers

Hey uh, just chiming back in here but seriously this time, cuz as a very long time computer tech that solution causes me to raise an eyebrow.
Default Defender behavior doesn't do that. Windows Defender almost never flags a Steam game, let alone stops it from saving; even with Win11's amped up security.
If you just wanna play your game, do you. But I'd seriously run a full scan with the free version of Malwarebytes when you go to bed tonight. Just to be safe

we did the same exact thing on my gf's computer yesterday, we added both the normal .exe and the _.exe file and even the whole steam library/folder to the virus and threat exclusion list and the game still fails to save manually once in a while. We decided to turn off the whole virus/threat protection.
