FFVII not working on win 7

Anyone know how to get FFVII Remake to work on win 7? Keeps saying POWRPROF.DLL missing or so. But the dll is active in the win32 folder. Any advice will be helpful. Hopefully I dont have to get win 10.

Check the above link - the game "officially" doesn't support W7 which doesn't mean it won't work but whenever a company says that it just means they're not going to provide tech support etc for that platform. Whether it works is sometimes incidental.

Win 10 is listed on minimum requierments.

If you try to run it on anything older, you are not going to get any support in case of problems.

This mod allows the, 1.0.0.0 version of the game (current steam version), to be run on windows 7.

-Extract the EXE file into "...\Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade\End\Binaries\Win64\" replacing the original EXE

​-In your Steam game library, right click on "FF7 remake" and select properties. In launch options type "-dx11" (without quote marks) to switch to directX11.

-Launch game as normal.

You gave me hard-0on. I really didn't want to get out of Windows 7. I even bought this PC I have because it came with OE Windows 7 sticker. I would have needed to install another HDD and Windows 10 just to play games.

Working just fine for my system. 1050Ti with latest nVidia drivers 476. A bit of slow down here and there when things get busy but most likely due to hard drive loading. SSD hard drives can probably get over it.

Seriously man, you’re putting your entire machine at all your data at risk because you’re too afraid to acclimate to something new. Just rip that bandaid off already, 10 is way better for gaming at this point and generally as stable.

win 7 support end several years ago. If exploits are found there is no one to patch them and your computer will be extremely vulnerable. i hope you don't log into anywhere important that has your personal info like bank web sites with that computer.

Windows 7 is literally a ten year old OS it's time to move on

Windows 10 is fine. Yeah there's a couple annoyances but they can pretty much be worked around by this point.

I honestly have to facepalm seeing these kinds of post. OP: DO YOU EVEN READ THE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS??!!!

Windows 10 64 bit (ver. 2004 or later) [and Windows 11 of course].

Why are people still on this operating system? If you can afford this game, you can absolutely afford to upgrade to Windows 10 but really your going to have to move up to 11 at some point now. For security reasons, you absolutely should not be on Windows 7 for good reason (and no were not going to help you with Windows 7 problem)! Yes it was a great Operating System, but its seriously time to move on. No offense OP, look at upgrading your Operating System first before continuing to use Steam in general, so many games now require Windows 10 now (the latest ones at least).

PPL hang on to older systems for compatibility issues with certain software that are no longer supported. Don't hate just because you don't have issues.
It's not hard to just get the new OS onto another hard drive, but that's still a pain in the rear.

You can run win7 in virtual machine for very specific software.

The only thing I've come across where stuff doesn't work quite right is if it has old hardware dongles or it doesn't scale everything right. Of course, if it's an old DOS program, you can just use DOSBox. That said, it's usually very specialized industrial stuff that relies on that old hardware. A home PC shouldn't suffer that issue. The bad scaling, I think, can be fixed with the high DPI scaling compatibility fix (though it doesn't seem to work quite right ALL the time, even on newer programs). The dongle... well, that'd require a pretty interesting virtual machine setup on modern hardware.
