It's the exact same thing.
Sorry you bought it on Epic tho.

nothing different other than epic vs. steam... and that it can be played offline. the game build is identical.

this version is better because it's on steam

This version isn't prone to getting your credit info stolen

Yh I was quite impatient. Oh well. At least mods work well on both versions.

People hate mega huge corporations.

The EPIC launcher is also full of bugs and inconsistencies. Achievements aren't even working properly.

Tencent. They've basically sold out to China.

Not exactly the same. SE put in an "always online" requirement in the epic games' version. But not in this one because it's "steam deck verified"
Jazneo Jun 17, 2022 @ 11:19pm
easier to play on steam deck without going though hoops. plus i think there steam deck patch in this version

Honestly it's mostly laziness. I don't want to run 30 launchers for different games. Bonuses are that I like getting Steam achievements, I have friends on Steam, I like all the integrations (screenshots, guides, discussions, etc), easier to play stuff on the Steam deck...

I don't hate the EGS, the parent company or any of that but I also don't buy anything there. I do support the games when they finally make their way here though (as you can see!)

epic is bad imo because of their business practice are horrible, buying games and making it exclusive on their own launcher permanently/timed exclusive. console wars are understandable, but launcher wars are annoying since its basically on the same device with same functionality and architecture. microsoft have their own launcher on pc (xbox game pass and microsoft store) they still released in on steam, even Playstation started porting their exclusive games to PC

Before I buy a game on Steam I read user reviews. After I bought a game on Steam and have some technical problems I look in Steam forums for solutions from other users.
In Epic store there are no user reviews and no forums, or did I miss something?

Go ask epic forums why they're so hated... Oh wait they don't have any features.
