PS5 icon prompts?

i'm using a PS5 controller while the game shows XBOX icon prompts. Is there a way to put PS5 icons? Or just wait for the mods?

idk about PS5 prompts specifically but I do know that it's capable of using PS4 prompts. Enable Steam PS controller support and it should properly display the prompts.

Yeah the PS controller support is on, the controller is working fine but with XBOX icon prompts instead.

What worked for me on a Dualsense was disabling steam controller input for the game and using a wired connection. Then I get the PS button prompts. If you have it paired over bluetooth it only works if steam controller input is turned on and that makes everything Xbox buttons.

This is a known FFXIV issue as well

Just go into big picture mode and disable all steam controller preferances and you need to play this game wired. FFXIV is the same way when it comes to the PS5 controller but damn does dual sense feel good.

Really? I play FFXIV with the same PS5 controller wireless and it works just fine, with PS5 icon prompts and all.

All you have to do is disable Steam controller support for the game. This will prompt the game to recognize the PS5 controller and use it.

Right Click on game -> Properties -> Controllers -> override Steam Input for FFVII:R -> Disable Steam Input.

I saw this mod yesterday, but was looking for another alternative because:
If I use it wireless, the prompt will change to numbers.
My cable is unstable if I move just a little.
DS4Windows freezes sometimes, forcing me to open task manager, closing it middle-gameplay and open it again.

But if thats the only solution right now... Welp, better than absolute nothing.

You're very welcome. I find that for some games with native support for Sony controllers disabling the Steam Input always works.

Not sure I only use the controller wired so I cannot answer your question. It seems like the OP is using the controller wireless tho if we can go by their posts.
