Workout mini games cheat.
That about sums it up.

Toward the end of the timer Jules is over here not even doing full pull ups and raking in points. In in the groove hitting the buttons with perfect timing then BAM I randomly miss when I'm too far ahead of him.

I thought we were past the eara where games gave themselves an unfair advantage? 🤣

Oh he totally cheats. But Jules does screw up. As long as YOU don’t screw up (which took me a lot of practice) and keep up the pace it’s not too terribly difficult.

These minigames are practically a tortise vs hare metaphor. If you go just slow enough that you can consistently hit all of the prompts without screwing up, you will probably win.

Problem solved. I temporarily installed cheat engine because I found a cheat table for it with a script that got ves you 11 points for every successful pull-up. Ended up beating him by like 250 points.

What's good for the AI players is good for the human players too, right? 👍

That is one way to say "I fail miserable in rhythm games".

You wouldn't last 30 seconds in Patapon or Parappa The Rapper.
There is no greater admission of personal failure then cheating.

damn instead of installing cheat engine, just use SAM

Sounds like a lot of cope. "I spent hours perfecting this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mini game! So should you! 🤓"

Over here acting like a cheated in a hole tournament or something.

But hey whatever gets your pp hard. Gatekeep that single player achievement some more. 👍

I've beat Jules on every playthrough months ago.
Right, the AI players blatantly giving itself more points that it's earning is a fair "challenge"

👍

TBF it doesn't take that long. Jules took me about 3-4 attempts before I won. It's really not that hard.

Does it really matter what the animation looks like? You're just supposed to out-pace the AI; it doesn't matter if they made the pull-up animation look different from yours.

Generally, Jules will land at around 43-46 points. Ignore what's happening on his side of the screen and just try to get past that number. I found it helps to mute the music and dialog so you can just focus on keeping your timing accurate.

He doesn't cheat, he just only messes up once in the majority of matches and has perfect inputs otherwise, meaning he's not losing time on animations like the player often does. Your assertion that he gets points without doing full pull ups just isn't accurate -- go watch a YouTube video when you're not distracted by trying to actually play and you'll see each point is in fact a full pull up.

You're also not "randomly missing," you're missing. It's super frustrating having something that demands near perfection in something like an action RPG, but the game isn't CHEATING, it's just frustratingly narrow in how perfect you need to be to win.

Oh, you sweet summer child... Wait until you find out that this happens IRL as well...

As it has already been noticed many times, the game port is made very carelessly and poorly, this clearly affected the control timing. I also found the last minigame with pull-ups difficult, but not because of Jules' "cheating" (although it looks exactly like that), but because at maximum speed it is too easy to make a mistake in pressing the buttons - too early or the wrong button. As it turned out, a stupid problem has a stupid solution - turn on the 30 fps limit in the settings, it will immediately become easier.

You can do it even without a table, just by searching for a numerical value. Do 15-19 pull-ups, enter a number in the search, do a few more, repeat search via "next scan" until found number is only one, and change it.
I did it this way. After not making a single mistake in pressing, but still lost. I just felt sorry for the health of my hand, if only I could at least change my hand to the right, reassigning the controls to the arrows (I use the keyboard), but it is not available. So I just said, f*** you, Jules :steamhappy:
This also necrotic, just in case someone else needs it.

I remember when we all had the testosterone-fueled determination and fortitude to jump rope 100 times in a row like hairy-chested men, back in FFIX. Nowadays all these meticulously manicured boys struggle with a few measly pullups. How far we've fallen as a gaming society.

XD

Crawled out of your mother's basement long enough to post this huh?
Take a shower and feel some sun on your skin before you go back downstairs.
