Save Data Keeps Disappering

Every time I save in Final Fantasy VII Remake and then exit out of the game, my save always disappears. I checked inside the game's files and I saw that the saves were still there but under a folder that contained random characters.

For example one of the folders is named "᧯悴ˀ" and when I look inside this folder it brings up another folder called "My Games", then "Final Fantasy VII Remake", and inside that folder is where my save data is.

Every time I launch the game a new one of these folders gets created and a new save gets created inside of it, meaning I can't make any progress in the game because the game can't find my previous saves.

I've tried fixes like seeing if it was Windows Antivirus, Repairing My Game Files, and Reinstalling the Game and Steam itself. None of them worked unfortunately.

Would appreciate it if anyone knew what was happening!

I would like to know too; I am having the same issues. What's the point playing the game if you can never progress.

I have fixed the issue: Seems like the game can't find your "Documents" folder:
1. Press Windows Key + R
2. Type "Regedit"
3. go to: "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders"
4. On the right pane, make sure every entries shows the correct username path.
5. Correct any mistakes there is.
6. Close the Registry Editor.
