I've yet to hear a single person claim to hold both of these views simultaneously. Why you're attributing them to anyone who disagrees with you, I'm not sure. I guess so you can tell yourself that people who don't agree with you are wrong based on self contradiction, but that's you deciding you're right because you said so. The rest of your rant really isn't worth responding to, since you're not actually going to listen to what people say. You're just going to decide what they think and "debate" based on that. But yeah, the same people who are for this change are also fully against the things you ranted about too. I only see you being wishy-washy about your views depending on the subject frankly.
Tiffa wasn't wearing lingerie or a g-string in the scene. And you if tell me that 15 year old girls wouldn't wear something like Tiffa's outfit, you are damn liar. Her outfit wasn't bad or alarming.
If SE finds this offensive now, what else are they going to find offensive. Are they going to retroactively censor their entire backlog of games?
The op is right it's petty and pathetic.
Ethics board only has lattes and asparagus in their work diaries, they need to create problems to justify existence, this is what they do. Truly pathetic.
There is probably a bunch of scenes the creators wanted in, but have been denied by this pack of wretches. Hope ya all get hot snakes!
This works both ways though. It's extremely telling that people are this upset about this change. This isn't something that should matter at all, let alone to the extent people are making it out to matter. You'd think they put every female in the series in a nun's outfit the way you people are acting about it. Like the people who seem to think Miranda's buttshots in Mass Effect were the single most important 4 seconds of frames in the entire series.
This videos shows of Nibelheim incident in Remake. At 4:03, it shows Tiffa upset and they barely show you anything. Are you telling me that this 1 to 2 second clip has people complaining that "She is only 15 years old"?
There was another scene with her wearing a green dress, why didn't sensor that? You see some cleavage. I mean if we want to be cynical we can say her back is exposed and arms are exposed. Just put a damn turtle neck sweater on her.
On a very fundamental level, anyone calling this "censorship" is demanding that no one have a right to own anything, not even their own creative expression.
Another one telling us what should matter and what shouldn't! Go join the ethics board they love to lecture other people about what matters.
I mean, you act like one.
First of all the Miranda butt scene was barely a second. The dev team was a bunch of guys making a game. What are we going criminalize guys for being guys? It was silly but no one hated it unless you are talking about your Anita Saarkesians of the world.
I think people are upset because 1 it didn't need changing. And it shows us that SE can now just censor anything now because they got a bunch of DEI or feminists working in their Ethics Department.
I guess you don't even know what I'm talking about in regards to Mass Effect. People absolutely lost their gourds, because the buttshots were taken out in Legendary Edition. All these same "censorship" people came out crying, and all the same "creative freedom belongs to the creators of the art" debates went on. People demanded others boycott the game and the company.
Over buttshots. Buttshots that literally are a moment out of a 100+ hour trilogy. And that's exactly what this whole situation is again, except this time its focused on a few moments during which the character depicted is depicted as underage.
I do know because it was dumb then. Some guy who didn't work on the original games decides to change the camera angles.
It wasn't a big deal. LIke Tiffa's outfit wasn't a big deal but we got these people who make it a big deal and change it and that is why you got people like me complaining because the game didn't need changing.
