I read a few. I'm loosing my mind over it.
FF7 has always been considered a Masterpiece. No wonder we got multiple-spin offs, movie and I am 100% sure we are getting a Netflix series on the third chapter.
Onimusha just got a Netflix series, they greenlight anything: FFVII will be no exception.
But I'm not 100% sure about GOTY - it's the second, stand-alone, in a three part project - just like LOTR movies, I think the award shower will be on the 3RD game. 2022, 2023 we had amazing games, and there are promising stuff coming such as Dragon's Dogma 2, Elden Ring. GOTY is usually fanbase votes - BG3 being the odd case, since it's such a nieche game and was universally acclaimed even by the people that did not get to play the game.
But there is always hope.
I just hope they properly port it considering their technical write up about the sheer importance of the PS5's I/O and SSD abilities makes it pretty clear they're going to probably either have to implement DirectStorage for the PC version or we're screwed.
Ah I need to check his review. I know he does some great work on work conditions and other industry news journalism though I don't recall how long its been since I've seen a review of his for a game (prob not since Kotaku and before it was a dumpster fire).

The User Reviews always result in people using bots to review bomb popular games. Metacritic deletes most of those. Happens with most new games.
I agree that User Reviews on Metacritic are useless, though. I only regard the Critic Reviews.
