Yes, even COVID couldn't help REMAKE sell more than 5mil heck i bet it was 4mil and ps5 version push an extra 1mil then EGS version pushed 1.5mil then steam with 800k then they called it all time 7mil copies sold after 4yrs !!!!

Sony has definitely been taking a bunch of L's recently. This game should have been on PC day 1. My guess is sales would be nearly double. There were with Helldivers 2. Sony apparently doesn't like money.

WRONG! Helldivers 2 is THEIR game so of course they want to make double the sales.

But this? FF is not their game. They only get $$$ for whatever licensing Square had to pay for. Any copy NOT sold on their system might as well not exist for Sony.

Triple A games are just too expensive to make with the level of production values they are expected to make, especially given the extremely low price point of games given what they are and how they have been well below the curve of inflation for decades. With alternative options with smaller studios/indie competing and taking up some market share in an already saturated market.

We're probably going to see one of, or a combination of; significant increases in price, a crash, and/or AI being incorporated and doing a lot more of the work.

It's a shame we live in a world where people think 5+ million sales is bad, but whatever the Remake Trilogy is lacking in sales, they are making up for by Sony paying the for exclusivity. I think Square is doing fine.

I mean FFXVI is coming to pc and we know Rebirth will too eventually, will Xbox ever see these games though? But overall i do agree the Sony time exclusivity inst good for anyone except Sony

It got derailed when they decided to make sequels, then took a break since most disliked those, and now started doing it again.

But since it has “Remake” in its title, it’s able to trick more into thinking it’s a good with its new additions, Helps that for most of it, it relies on old scenes that are a part of a much better story. But the new scenes, those are the typical Advent Children, Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core weak writing

Wont last long, as Rebirth’s ending is already getting criticism that it’s clearly not going to pay off in a satisfying way

The idea that any game at all would have double the sales from PC to console is a joke. PC gamers are minority.
