The real reason Cowgirl Tifa was changed
Apparently, she has some action scenes in Rebirth. Her cowgirl outfit might even be available during normal gameplay. This is likely why she was given a sports bra in Rebirth. The bra is basically how they excuse her lack of jiggle physics. Her character model being changed in Remake is just to make the flashback scenes consistent with Rebirth. No one is trying to censor her clevage. She still has clevage in her Wall Market dresses and we will get plenty more of it at the beach in Rebirth. However, the added bra in her cowgirl outfit appears to be only about her having action scenes now.

I mean yeah but didn't this all start with the new 7CC game? What was their reason for the added clothes in that?

Probably to also make it consistent with Rebirth. I'm sure Rebirth was in production before Reunion was released.

Tifa's bra must be made of the hardest material known to man if they can stop those milk trucks from bouncing. Harder than Dragonforce.
Maybe she is hiding gravity materia in there to stop it from bouncing.

No one has a counter argument for this.

You're absolutely right. There is no counter argument to this. I'm still pointing out the fact a 15-year-old isn't necessarily fully developed in addition to your justification, but I'm guessing the outrage mob doesn't know how female anatomy works. I'm all for attacking nonsense like Spiderman 2 or Suicide Squad, but this is the biggest nothing burger I've seen whining about yet. Let's not forget the fact all these threads are about going berserk over a 2 second flashback that, if a small number of "influencers" and twitter trolls hadn't gone nuts about, nobody would even care nor notice.

And yet someone at squeenix wasted the time to do it.... if no one would notice, why did they? I must say, this doesn't reflect well on whoever made that decision... you know who was paying enough attention to a 15 year old's chest to make that call.

(And btw, I agree, my own complaints have to do with changing anything 4 years after a single player game came out and the lack of trust I have in a company willing to do that to their products for anythign short of bug fixes or maybe an added campaign. Had I bought this game previously I would never have known without it being pointed out... it just makes me ask what else are they willing to change... which is why I probably never will now.... at least not on a service like steam where Im not in control of patching it. WHAT they changed and how few would notice makes me wonder about who made that decision and why they were so focused as to replace and rerender entire video files for a few seconds like that. Perhaps Chris Hansen SHOULD be asking someone to take a seat.)

The answer is they are willing to change things to make the story more consistent. If all they cared about was preventing you from seeing clevage, they would have covered up Tifa's revealing dresses in Wall Market.

...but that doesn't make sense either. I mean as noted, who was going to notice? Who literally went through a flashback to check on her chest like that?

And while we are on it, analytically are those two seconds even the same day? I ask because even if someone so obsessed with consistancy that they noticed that without staring at a 15 year old's chest in a 4 year old game at Squeenix's offices (which Im not buying btw), isn't it possible... neigh... LIKELY, she would have more then one outfit?

I literally see ZERO reason why the difference couldn't be there between games and still be valid.

Meanwhile all this tells me personally is Squeenix is cool with changing games almost half a decade old at a whim... something I find far more troubling then a few pixels personally.

I literally noticed it right when Reunion was released. I said I don't mind if she's wearing the bra or not, but it should be consistent either way. I didn't have to go through the flashback again either. I just remembered after the one time I played theough the game that she didn't have the big black sports bra on.

And yes, it's the same day. Cloud only went back to visit his hometown once.

Let's talk some sense into people.
Ryvaku Feb 29, 2024 @ 8:42pm
You are just making up an excuse for them when it's not needed. It is obvious on why they censored it. I'm just reading up on this and if they gave Tifa an age and seeing where the camera was being focused. It was intentional angle. Being an underage character the censorship was inevitable. This is solely for the western market because that is what people see in it. Square Enix had no choice because they value their public image as any company would.

It is a vest like thing in the Remake/Rebirth not a shiny sports bra like in Reunion. Her outfit in Reunion is not consistent with the one in Rebirth/Remake so they need to fix Reunion if they want to be consistent. Otherwise I'm not buying their reasoning. Look at 0:30-031 in this video: "FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE/End/Content/GameContents/Movie/070-MAKO5/MV_MAKO5_0070/MV_MAKO5_0070.emov"

It's a fantasy game full of magic and dragons and stuff, but a bra is needed to "protect" a girl during action scenes?
