Why is the story so Woke?

Just finished the story (On EGS) and maybe I am looking into it too hard, but you play what is essentially futuristic ANTIFA and do battle against an evil corporation in a dystopian Capitalist nightmare world, whilst dressing in DRAG and teaming up with SJWs and furries.

Well all of that stuff was in the original, and this game has been out for years, so the content is not exactly a secret. So why would you buy the game knowing in advance you were not going to like it? Or did you buy it just so you could get offended?

OG FF7 was made as an entertainment product first and foremost.

Clumsily inserting social justice messaging with the subtlety of a poke in the eye wasn't the number 1 priority for Square.

OG FF7 was like that but it is not Antifa it is Eco terrorists - like Greenpeace but GreenBlowtheSTUp o and it was made on a newage ideas + personal family tragedy of the Author - duno how they will end this remake of the game - but in OG things ware not as they look like at the beggining and the whole Migar part was just the intro . Part of cross dressing - this is story from 90s Japan and "beautiful man" it is a cultural part reaching ukiyo e era (17 th century ) - maind that this game was concepted in early 90s Japan - no body knew ther what is Drag or SJW or Querr but they perfectly knew who was Torii Kiyonaga and his series of portraits of beauties and actors - actors as Japan tradicion called for plaing female parts in acts (look at Kabuki - onnagata) to Takarazuka - in reverse Woomen play all the roles ..... so as mutch this was a a borderline in topic in ukio- e era Japan falling in love in a man actor who specialize in woomen roles was a plot in a spicy erotic poetry or novellas of that time (ending as always with death - a Ukio e thingi ) on the other side same period you got whole "Ninja" and yes infiltrators used crossdressing as a missdirection - no body mind old laydy or susspect 3 woomens on a streat - but one is femen looking man on a job to infiltrate merchants house or military outpost . - They took from this they own tradicion no need to import anything from "west" (for Japan it is East ) ;)

To be fair, the original game was made in the 90's before Antifa was a thing, the idea of a man dressing up as a woman was a big joke and everything else you mentioned is just normal anime cartoonishness.

FF7 was always extremely political. You are literally playing as diverse eco-terrorists fighting against an all-white fascist-capitalist government. If you have a problem with the themes in FF7 it is because you are the evil that you fight against in the game.

If antifa were dropped into FFVII's world, they'd be opposed to Shinra. Shinra is/stands for just about everything they oppose.
