Original FF7 didn’t have a romanticized, in-your-face gay NPC.
The bros in the honey inn are slapstick and any perceived romances like Rude & Reno are head canon.
Therefor, like the sprite in legend of mana, Quina is treated as sexless. In english we refer to sexless organic beings with masculine pronouns or alternatively as "it."
Also Daniel is right. I don't think there is any romance noticeable with any of the NPCs outside of the dating scene near the end. The "bros" was definitely slapstick, but definitely gay. Not romance though. They only used him for his body.

should use their effort to optimize more, like....not include this gay npc so less characters in town = higher fps
