Possibly one of the best themes in gaming?

The main theme in this game always hits me. Whenever I fire up the game I have to take a minute just to listen to it. The marching band drums and powerful strings really make you feel like this is an epic saga or pain, triumph and honour. While also taking you back in time to when you were a kid playing the original making you almost feel like a kid again.

Gaming has some amazing music going around but none hit the feels like the FF7 Remake does. To the point where the theme song will randomly start playing in my head sometimes.

Agreed. I absolutely love the main menu theme and a lot of the music really hit me. I never played the original before this game, but I just fell in love with the music. This style also instantly reminded me of Kingdom Hearts (a game whose music I also love). It just has a timeless quality about it and I am really looking forward to see what new music I get to encounter in Rebirth.

Prelude, in most of its forms, gives me goosebumps to this day. Several of the songs in this game really hit my core. This has an excellent OST.

Same ...i 100% completed og ff7 back in the day rinsed it clean.. did absolutely everything went everywhere spoke to everyone max out all characters and every materia collected every weapon bred golden chocobos ..the full kaboodal

even tho i love this game dearly, final fantasy 8 will forever be my personal fav

It is really good, even if its not among my favorite. Nobuo has some amazing works. My favorite from the game is probably Aerith's theme though. Hearing how Nobuo wrote One Winged Angel was something else, too. I find some of the music like the snow areas, ocean, and others really captures the essence of the scene, one of my favorite aspects of Nobuo's works. Even more so with how he does it using simple pieces keeping it pure.

For the Remake I like most of it though some of it feels a bit off. I'm actually most curious about episode 2's music, especially since he will be entirely hands off aside from influence carried from episode 1's work unless he does a special project like No Promises again despite retirement. Mostly because I'm more interested in the areas it covers for the music than episode 1's Midgar pieces, though I'll have to wait for some like the snow region stuff in episode 3.

I don;t know if you mean the main theme as in menu theme being prelude or you mean the actual track called main theme of FF7.

I agree that Aeriths theme is also powerful. This is another theme song that will randomly pop up in my head. I think FF7 has some of the best music in gaming. The world theme will often play in my head randomly.
