Is this game complete now?
I heard a while ago it’s not complete. Is it complete now? I just want to play the whole story again after so much time.

Remake is finished. It is part 1 of a trilogy. Part 2 (Rebirth) is about to be released as a limited PS5 exclusive. PC will probably follow in a year or two. The timeline on part 3 has not been announced, as far as I know.

If you want "the full story of original FFVII" covered, that will be after part 3. If that is what you mean, then, "no."

Thank you for your answer. So it means if I want to play the whole game from PS1 area than I have to wait after part 3 is released?

You're welcome. And, yes.

Thank you :-)

Rebirth is on its way to PS5 at the end of this month with no PC version yet announced, which follows the pattern of Remake. Rebirth is only part 2 and is expected to go up to events at the end of the originals disc 1 (unconfirmed).

The number of total parts is unknown especially given how this reimagining fleshes and stretches out every little thing. It is possible that they could cram everything after disc 1 into whatever part 3 will be but I doubt it. We can't even be sure if they are going to try and get all parts out before the next console generation.

Rebirth's PSN store page directly indicates it goes through the events of Forgotten Capital, where disc 1 ended in OG FFVII.

This has explicitly been stated to be a trilogy by developers and on other official announcements and material.

Most of OG FFVII's actual story was in disc 1. And disc 3 immediately drops the player off at the doorstep of the final dungeon which concludes the story. The rest is side content/the world.

They've confirmed 3 parts max (or technically 4 if you count Crisis Core Reunion which is a confirmed part of the R-project).

I do wonder how they're going to fit everything for disc 2 & 3 into episode 3, myself, but seeing what they've done with Rebirth I don't think it is entirely impossible but still feels a tad a stretch. They've already begun / written episode 3's script though.

Episode 1, as Weltall mentioned, goes until Forgotten Capital (officially confirmed).

Actually the first draft is done.. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/first-draft-of-final-fantasy-remake-part-3-s-story-is-already-done/ar-BB1i3QLl

Also, the airship isn't until part 3, so it looks like they have it pretty much all squared away.

No. If you want to play the game from the PS1 era, you have to play this one:

They revamped the combat and only gave you disc one. Will ff8 be 4?

This isn't the PS1 version, they've made changes to the story. You should just replay the PS1 version if that's what you're looking for. This is more of a sequel.
