Should I buy a PS5 for rebirth or just wait for it to come to PC?

Lets hope it's more like a FFXV scenario, that rather them establishing some deal behind the scenes, they're actually revamping the game for PC. If history thought them anything, PC gamers have high standards when it comes to ports, lets hope they deliver. That's me being optimistic

Yeah, I really hope so.

I just wrapped up the Nibelheim demo on PS5 last night. I'm still excited for the game, but, honestly, I'm a bit disappointed in the presentation. I only played Remake on PC and it looked and performed much better on my rig than this on my PS5 in either performance or graphics mode. I picked up the Twin Pack, but opted to finally play God of War Ragnarok instead, so I haven't seen Remake on PS4 or 5. I may pop on to compare and see if it really is a noticeable downgrade from my PC to PS5 in the coming weeks. But, overall, with the few PS5 games I've played since my family got the console, I am not impressed with the system.

People like to crap on the PC port of Remake, but from my experience it was significantly better than the PS4 game. Granted its PS4, so I heard much better things with PS5. But if your experience is an indicator of things to come, it seems like history is about to repeat itself in that regard.

Once I added the 70GB's of texture & miscellaneous HD upscaled mod files, and edited the .pak files to allow for different alterations of the character upgraded models it has become the best version, but no thanks to Square..

I mean that's a perk of PC vs Playstation, but overkill imo. I'm perfectly fine with the default settings available, and even those were superior to Sony, so I'm not complaining. It's great though PC have options, I wouldn't expect SE to satisfy everyone needs, that would be impossible, but at least mods are there for that purpose.

What I am grateful for is Rebirth is almost here, and I couldn't even touch this game really long until I played that demo, knowing it's actually going to get done. Also, modding allows a lot of fixes the lazy billionaire giant won't waste their efforts on.

The truth is this - If you are willing and able to part with several hundred dollars upfront for two games, then go for it. If not, just wait.

SE net worth is roughly $5 billion dollars, that's comparably small to today standard, shouldn't you be harsher on bigger corporations? SE is doing what they can with what they have, sometimes we get some hits, but more often than not we get misses, not for the lack of trying though. I cut them a lot of slack because they're nowhere near as egregious as bigger corporations, and reward their hits like Remake, to let them know that's what we the people want more of. It's the only way corporations like this get the memo, and I think it's working since SE are slowly getting it, especially when I see articles like this:

Depends how much money you have. If you are short on money then buy a PS5. If you have enough money, built a high end gaming pc and hook your pc to your TV. Wait a few months/years and play the game in even better graphics and 60+ FPS.

Like others said, if you want it now it costs 500€ for the ps5 or you wait until pc release. As a reminder: The original game came out april 2020, epic release december 2021 = ~20 months later and steam mid 2022. So worst case you will wait about 2 years.

On top of that if you're pc is maybe not the newest one you will have a more fluid performance (60 fps mode) on ps5 and less problems with hardware /software problems. Most playstation ports run horrible on pc until some major patches drops and last but not least if your i.e. cpu is very old you maybe can't even start the game because it's misses some features (happened at least for Horizon Zero Dawn).

It sucks with the time limited exclusive to PS5.
It's annoying because so many people on social media, youtube n discord servers will mention spoilers of new stuff in the game, around 8 months or more after FF7 Remake came out on PS4 someone spoiled Zack on Twitter.

Sucks dont have anymore room for more consoles so I gotta wait for the game tho idk if im gonna be around when it drops on PC.

I aint dropping a couple hundred bwitish-dish poundies for ANOTHER future paper weight that only plays one game I actually want.

Just hope the PC port comes asap so fingers crossed that does happen.

Consoles these days is more about company politics more than ever over if this or that console is good or too trash to run this or that game (rollseyes bored out of my mind)

There are several good PS5 games you can't play on PC. Its a worth while purchase. Its up to you however. IN my opinion you would not be buying it just for this game.

If you're okay waiting 1+ years for the PC version of Rebirth.
