How much is the several hundred dollars worth to you? Can/do you want to wait for it? (Likely over a year.)
Personally, I would not buy a PS5 solely for FFXVI. Rebirth, I'm a little way into the demo out right now, it's not grabbing me at the moment, but it feels like a tutorial at this point, so I am reserving judgment.
My family bought a PS5 last spring, mostly as a glorified streaming device for our living room. I play a few games on it here and there and have mostly been "could take it or leave it" with the PS exclusive games that I have played so far (God of War, working on GoW Ragnarok, InFamous Second Son, FFXVI, working on FFVII Rebirth demo). I much prefer PC. The controller is kinda neat, but also feels cheap to me. Otherwise, PC is completely better, IMO.
This, so expect a 2 year wait on each game part. It's why I am not waiting and getting the game on PS5 for now. If I had infinite time as a luxury I might wait, but 2 years, should be illegal, I've lost co workers from between the damn part 1 and 2 launches, it's been 4 years.
ALSO, to the thread starter, WAIT UNTIL NOVEMBER, the PS5 Pro is coming, that's JUST months away.

It is lame. I wish they'd make their games multiplatform from the outset.
Facts:
1: Timmy will not pay bonkers money for EGS exclusives anymore they don't help pushing EGS in the slightest as we now know.
2: SE had a streak of underwhelming releases recently partly because their platform exclusive strategy doesn't work at all nowadays.
That is not at all confirmed. And if history is any indicator, we are not seeing a PC port this year.
History can change though, I think it's pointless to predict one way or the other, but if SE wants to capitalize on sales they would want to release asap. I already think they're making a mistake not release FF16 now, what are they waiting for, and why isn't it out on Epic if that's what they're doing? Are they trying to establish a deal with them as we speak? This hasn't played out exactly like Remake. With Remake we knew SE sealed a deal with Epic right after the PS5 exclusivity deal ended.
History can indeed change. [EDIT: Or, rather, is not necessarily a foolproof indicator of what will happen in the future.] What I'm saying is: we don't know one way or the other. I suspect we won't see it this year, but we don't know either way.
I agree that they should go multiplatform as soon as possible, and preferably wouldn't do exclusives/timed exclusives in the first place. But, I guess I don't know what's going on behind the scenes and what kinda deal they're getting that may make it worth it in their minds.
