The entire reason Square Enix split from Microsoft for the past several years is because they refused to put enough money on the table to support an Xbox port so it would be financially feasible as, just based off sales on that platform alone due to the very low JRPG fan base, it wouldn't be realistic to port unless Microsoft paid them enough to offset the invested effort. This happened with Final Fantasy XVI and the same happened for FFXIV, a game growing so explosively on the other two platforms there was no reason to bring it to an irrelevant minor platform for JRPGs. Now they're finally bringing it to Xbox but even Microsoft doesn't feel confident and will kill it basically because it requires both a subscription for FFXIV + a subscription for Game Pass (that is right, you must pay for both to play it on Xbox).
As for also paying for it to come to PC? I doubt Microsoft even paid for that. This was likely just naturally done to try and recoup another install base as well as extra sales from repurchases of the enhanced experience (both on a technical level and for the enhanced Integrade).
The reality sucks, but JRPGs just aren't really a thing at all on Xbox for the most part. Sony paid for priority, clearly paying more than enough, quite unlike Microsoft who can't even work a good deal (see above comments) and further lacks the relevant install base to even be really a financial success.
In fact, Xbox has a rather significant history of destroying relationships over this past generation such as the Spider-Man incident, Square Enix, and several others which basically made them go exclusive on Sony both because of problems caused by Xbox as well as Sony's offer making it even more desirable.
Japanese company will side with Japanese company. It's really just as deep as that.
Good.
We don't want Nomura's garbage on PC, it's fine where it belongs.
This game has nothing to do with the original Final fantasy 7 as Nomura the retarded made it a trashy kid story like that cancer of KH.
Why did that come from?
It is only 3 months.
You must not have played KH if you think Remake or Rebirth is ANYTHING like KH. Just saying.
Grow their fanbase? Bro, Final Fantasy already had a huge fanbase in the late 90's with FF7, 8, and 9, not to mention Square's other projects like Parasite Eve, Xenogears, Chrono Trigger, etc...
Most of us that grew up with these games in the 90's are STILL playing them today.
FFXV took some time to port to PC, so did FF13 and those had no deals.
