3 months exclusive on ps5

This dont mean anything. If SE is planning any DLC for Rebirth they will port the PC version when all content is done.

I think DLC will be with Vincent as playable character like Yuffie was in Remake. (at least fingers crossed :D I hope he is, because in full game he is not playable, just a companion

im buying it on ps5 if it's performance isnt ass.

some googling, says coming to pc 5/29/2024
That's when the exclusivity period for PS5 ends. which means that after that date it will be on PC. It could be the day after or in a month or two after but I hope they give us a concrete PC release date soon.

FF16 still isn't on PC so not May 2024 for Rebirth.

yea 16 will be first on PC, and they wont release 2 big games in a short span of time, so expect it at the end of the year / next year

yeah I think its gonna be on EPIC for 6 months exclusive after PS5
I actually doubt they will do that for Rebirth this time around. All of Square Enix's latest games have released on Steam, but not on EGS, which points to them being very unhappy with that store.

Maybe TGS will have some good news for us

With their recent announcements of disappointing exclusivity sales, hopefully they have learned.

Here's my 2 cents.

I'm almost certain we won't get any news for Rebirth before the Game Awards. Why the Game Awards? I wager they're betting on that Game of the Year award, but we'll see.

However I do believe you're on track with FF16 showing up at TGS. I don't think they're planning on announcing both titles simultaneously, that's sales suicide.

The FF16 port is allegedly almost finished or already finished so we will undoubtedly see that first. They just need to announce it a big event to push sales.

while I don't think this will be a problem, something rebirth does that will make it an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥ to port is it recreates the functionality of the tiny bronco's ship mode from the original in its 12th chapter, effectively turning the game world into that part of classic ffvii's world map. even with the sacrifices they ended up having to make, such as rendering the road to cosmo canyon untraversible, that is a technologically impossible feat in its own right because it made every area freely visitable in real time and effectively recreates most of ffvii's overworld as an actual traversible open world without loading screens. this game is 100+ gb not because it's poorly optimized, but because that was as small as they could make it.

now they have to further optimize it for the majority of pcs including steam decks once exclusivity dries up, and I can tell you from my experience with the game; that will be one TALL order. rebirth is staggeringly huge because it's trying to recreate most of ffvii's world map as an open world game.

This is true they stated themselves they couldn't make the world so open towards the end without Sony's help. But PC's in general have more computing power behind them hopefully this will speed things up a bit.

how can a game only on 1 platform be game of the year? Over half of the gaming population hasn't even played it...

Ask TLOU Part 2 and Breath of the Wild that question.

The wait is killing me.. I figured it would be some time before steam got a version, but my god. We are literally MONTHS after the initial expected release date with no updates! No where have I found any information other than 'May 2024'.
