Fort Condor is really cool.
I'm really glad it's here, and that there are prizes locked behind it. I love experiences that are completely different from the main game! They're always balanced, with fair AI, and aren't frustrating at all. It's clear that a ton of time and effort went into this challenge.

What a relaxing way to enjoy the game I spent $50 on. I can't think of a better use for my time.

Sounds sarcastic, but I really enjoyed Fort Condor.

I mean did your $50 only buy you access to Fort Condor or a 30-40 hour long game and its' expansion?

I'll give you its no Gwent, but it's fine for what it is.

Gwent is cool until you learn how to break it wide open, then it becomes pretty boring when you know how to win every game.

Gwent was stretched out over a 40-60 long game compared to condor which is reserved to a 5-8 hour DLC compaign. That said making the OP decks I think is part of the fun.

About as much fun as farming god roll equipment in Borderlands, but each to their own.

This is how I felt about Fort Condor. Somewhat amused but then I realized some of the boards or w/e it was you can literally just spam magic and automatically win (literally, as in guaranteed).

Took a minute to find a video of someone doing it (kind of surprised it wasn't all over YouTube as THE strat) but...
Don't read if you want to avoid ruining Fort Condor:
A triple magic board lets you nuke the opponent at the start while you spawn a panther once one of your units has moved up that will ignore other units to directly charge and attack base to finish it off.

I hope they bring it back for episode 2 but add a lot more balance and depth.

As much as I want to play and enjoy Rebirth, I'm actually a little worried with how many minigames have been confirmed to be included. If the majority of them have the depth of the ice cream musical ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in Birth by Sleep, I'm going to lose my mind.

As far as the original, besides the chocobo stuff most were reserved for the golden saucer.

Yeah, and aside from the chocobo racing, the rest had the depth of a wet noodle.

Well since the original wasn't sold into 3 separate games, it functioned as a small diversion on the journey.

Still doesn't change how dull most of them were. I hope they take the combat arena in Midgar and greatly expand on that with modifiers and custom battles where you can go ham on it.

I still expect most of them to have the relative depth of a wet noodle. I do hope to see a few enhanced, however, like Chocobo Racing/Betting, the combat square, maybe even snowboarding and such. I think it will be a mixed bag, but since some of them are only used for generating GP rewards, anyways, it isn't a huge deal. After all, in real life a lot of arcade games have the depth of wet noodles just as well.

I forgot to add that this was all on a PS1 so not sure how square would make those mini games more complex.

It isn't a big deal at all, not really. I just think that if we're spending over 100 bucks for a new release, the content inside should be of high quality across the board. The battle arena in Midgar was awesome, so I want to see more of that, but with all the side content.

Fetch quests aren't a huge problem to me if the gameplay during those fetch quests is fun and engaging.
