Hard Mode has some additional gameplay stuff, but it does not continue the main storyline. Did you finish the DLC (included in this version) which you play as Yuffie?
To be honest, the game was way better than people tell it is. Okay, I didn't finish the story and it's kind of bad I guess that it doesn't have full story. But that's if you know that story - which I don't. To me it will be just like "FF7 II" (and I guess "FF7 III"). And anyways I got it on Black Friday deal with a huge discount.
Since it's coming to PS5 next year, that means we aren't getting a PC release till 2026? Oh well. If I'm still alive by that time - something to look forward to. I didn't hate the combat nearly as much as folks here do. The cinematics were awesome, the characters are cool. Plot twists are amazing so far as well.
The PS5 exclusivity window is stated to be a minimum of three months, but I wouldn't expect it out on PC in May. But, at this point, it's anyone's guess when we'll see it on Steam. This was good enough to where I'm getting it day 1 for PS5. (I waited for this game, Remake, for awhile, with a sale on Steam. Knowing what I know now, I'd have gotten it much sooner.)
Yeah, I'm absolutely hyped for part two, Rebirth in a couple months.
I haven't finished the game but, all I know is that you can do the achievement called hardened veteran on hard mode if you wish.
Yes, this will be three episodes total so there are still two more games to come out. Episode 2 is a much larger game and episode 3 is unknown but based on content it has to cover may actually be even larger than 2 since we have sufficient reason to believe we know where two ends due to dev comment.
Did you have a particular question about the ending?
More like - about the whole ordeal. The amount of "what"s, "why"s and "how"s exponentiated as the end credits rolled in. I know I can just go and read wiki and so on ... and spoil my future fun. I intentionally avoided anything related to characters, lore or story for this game.
My knowledge was basically "okay, I've heard about the dispute Tifa vs Aerith" (yeah that one) and "I've heard about the name of the MC and how ridiculously awesome and huge his sword is". That's it. I didn't even know which character was Tifa and which was Aerith before starting it. And I'm really glad I didn't spoil my fun. That's why - well, okay, I can wait with my questions till the game continues.
The only thing I'll really mention going forward (all non-spoiler info) is in the original game after you leave Midgar (aka where episode 1 Remake also stops) you enter the world map and start getting to explore the rest of the planet. In Rebirth this will happen, too, and you get huge open zones and can revist old areas and such as you progress. It will not be as linear as episode 1. It will also have birds, Chocobo, you can ride with varying abilities such as swimming, flying, climbing mountains, etc. depending on their color (aka genetics) as well as vehicles you will get all confirmed in episode 2. They will be expanding combat mechanics such as team synergy (try Intergrade DLC and you will get a hint of what I mean), we get more party members who join us, Red XIII is playable, etc. It is supposed to be around 100 hours on avg for length of episode 2.
All I want to see is: "game, please - stay you. please, don't get influenced by haters, agenda pushers or other sad individuals".
