New Patch - anyone got a fix to get FFVIIHook working again?
I rely on FFVIIHook to get the game looking and performing better on Steam Deck so I'm hoping this can get fixed soon.

Edit: downgrading the game for now.

Thanks, that should be the 1.001 then since the game got patched before it came to steam.

File version states 1.0.0.0.

Revert back to the previous version. Patch 1.0.0.2 only changed one file[steamdb.info] (ff7remake_.exe), so you can just copy over the 1.0.0.0 version of the file to get FFVIIHook working again.

I have uploaded the file to here[gofile.io]. Extract the file to End\Binaries\Win64 and FFVIIHook will work again.

Will this work on epic?

No. But there should be an Epic version of the EXE file somewhere.
Well... I did exactly each step and downgraded the EXE file (yes, the one with the _ )... FFVIIHook still not working at all. I did all that at July and worked, but now, it just wont... Could it be the 1.000 file not being 1.001?

The game got patched before it ever came to Steam.

This means the 1.0 version probably is the 1.001 version since Steam never got the 1.0 version
I see.... but still, does not work. Something odd too: the game flickers while loading the main menu and it opens on Integrate Yuffie menu instead the main game menu... saw some people recently complain that even doing everything correctly and downgrading the EXE file, FFVIIHook still doesn't work... any clues?

Thanks Eltia, this is very helpful! Its amazing we have to rely on each other as steam members to correct the irresponsibility of the developer for not fixing this. I was so upset when the hook did not work for me but I guess this one is only days old right? Hope this one works!

Hell yeah! Thanks for the heads up that Hook has been patched - this combined with dxvk-gplasync[gitlab.com] helped me immensely - I'm getting much improved stutter reduction from my initial tests.

Edit: Remember folks, FFVIIHook will not do anything without a correctly placed Engine.ini file optimized for your GPU's ram. I used the settings from this mod Nexus - Stutter-Free Seamless Gameplay[www.nexusmods.com].

I tested FFVIIHook v1.6 on SteamDeck with SteamOS 3.5 and FF7R v1.02 and I can confirm the mod works. Note that the name of the DLL file has changed, so you might need to update your launch option accordingly.

Memory usage seems to have increased (measuring about 10GB RAM and 6+ GB VRAM with my previous 720p40 settings). I don't know if this is caused by FF7R v1.02, SteamOS 3.5 or the mod itself. If your game experiences stuttering that you didn't have previously, try to tune down your VRAM usage. In my case I decreased my Streaming Pool Size by 700 MB and the stuttering is gone.
