A lot of people have different opinions and it will probably come down to personal preference.
If you like 8-bit games, 4, 5, and 6 are great games. If you're looking for more action-oriented FF games, 12, 13, and 15 might be worth looking at.
X is great but to me the remaster is worse than the original because it made characters look "weird".
Combat in 13 feels like a coach telling your team what to do. Guess that's why it puts people off but it's still enjoyable.
I haven't played it yet , but i heard its a souls-like .
- For those who know the game, how is it in terms of mixing turn-based and real-time action? and...
- Are there FF:REVII-like summons ?
No summons.
thank yall very much for the recommendations, i appreciate it a lot yo
No summons , thats disapointing, its this franchise coolest aspect. I kinda lost my interest in the game now.
But , thanks for the info
If you're looking for a game most similar to this one, Crisis Core is probably your best bet and that one is even in the same world setting.

I think Final Fantasy XV is action-based. I'm not 100% sure of that. The setting didn't interest me enough to play it.

I've heard that Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is supposedly a retelling of the very first Final Fantasy in an alternate timeline. That sounds about as lame as JJ's Star Trek, but it will also be an action-based FF, so check it out when it comes out.
If the action part doesn't matter to you, and you just want to explore the over-arching story of the series, then, you're in luck: there isn't one. Every roman-numeral Final Fantasy title is its own world setting and story, with the exception of XIV (because whiny WoW-babies cried so they rebuilt the game into a fan service milking machine).
If you're looking for settings that resemble FFVII's, Final Fantasy VI has a somewhat similar theme. It's not going to look as pretty by today's standards, however.
If you're looking for a female version of Cloud, Final Fantasy XIII offers exactly that.
This one is a stretch for comparable world settings, but Final Fantasy X is sorta close. I personally think that's more of a wasteland setting, but it's got an urban look to it.
Almost all of the roman-numeral games are separate world settings, so they can be played in any order. They share some commonalities such as creatures (Chocobos, Moogles), iconic character names (Cid, Garland), and summons or spells (Ifrit, Shiva, Firaga, Blizzaga). There are some exceptions:
Good one are 6-9
I'didn t like FF 13 but liked is sequel FF13-2.
