*Update1: the map system does have some artifacts in it that get overlaid on top of the map. It doesn't make the map unusable, but they are there. Not the end of the world.
I have issues with the cinematics squuezed and zoomed in. do you have that issue?
I think this is generally a problem with how ultrawide is implemented in some games. I haven't tried this but I know there are some other games that just zoom in and cut off the top and bottom to fit the the widescreen.
Yeah, This aint the only game I have had this issue, haven't seen a fix for any of those either. debating on whether I should keep it this way or switch back to 2560x1440 cuz the cinematic here are gorgeous.
I had trouble finding it because of its name
Open your game with steam, open flawless widescreen which will set you to 3440x1440 (replacing the 4k resolution in game).
In-game set your resolution to 2560x1440, then uncheckmark "Fix Enabled" in flawless widescreen. Your map should look normal now. Exit off the map screen in-game, enable the fix in flawless widescreen, and then set your resolutionn back to 3440x1440. There will be minor artifacts still, but not nearly as horrible as there are without doing this.
Square Enix, the game is incredible, but it’s such a pity that it doesn’t support ultrawide (21:9) natively. I’m using Flawless Widescreen as a workaround, but it’s not perfect. Native support would truly make the experience even better for ultrawide users.
Thank you!
Unfortunately this doesn't work for me and the artifacts are intrusive enough that it makes it hard to use the map, what a bummer that native ultrawide support isn't here - the game looks quite good too.
I'm in the same boat, but I guess I'll just deal with it. Ultrawide is pretty amazing when supported right in these types of games. Dark Souls Remastered also generally supports 32:9 in game aside from having half the menu wrecked on the right fourth of the screen. Usable enough and I'll put up with it just because of how much I enjoy the crazy FOV.
