my thing is why are we ending up fixing this when it should be SE from the get go? I understand the time and effort to fix the white screen or cut scene freezes, but isn't it why the game was created in the first place?? so players such as myself don't regret spending 60-99 dollars on a pc game? Just seems that SE needs to have a dedicated team to fix issues across their games. Maybe a better QA instead of just the bottom dollar.

I just started playing this game and during the tutorial part I experienced the white screen bug too. I've requested support from SE. If they reply with a solution I'll share it.

I did not find a solution to this problem, the only thing that can be done if you are not in battle is to open the manual save game menu and return to the title menu and load the manually saved game again, but if you are in a boss or in a part of the story there is nothing to do but load the automatic saved game, in 2024 and a game that has many errors for PC, the audio and also the graphic bugs, the few GPU configurations that it allows and bad performance, if you do not use mods cannot be enjoyed smoothly

Got the same blank screen out of nowhere three times in during a short gameplay (about 5 hours). Lucky me to find this thread saying that enter photo mode works as a workaround solution...in fact it worked.

Hope SE solve it in futures updates.

This is such an annoying bug. It even started to happen during a cutscene. I wonder, would hdr be a culprit? Would it go away if I turn it off?

part 2 was announced for PC, and with it came a sale on the twin pack with both games. I just started playing Remake yesterday and I've had that glitch twice. Once from the tail on the Guard Scorpion and again from a treasure on top of the apartment. Pretty major glitch to exist years later.

Just got this today, had it in the main menu as I was in the process of starting a new game & now just as I got off the train just after killing the first 2 enemies!

Going in and out of photo mode fixed it for me, like others have suggested

My HDR is not turned on & upon further inspection of forums it also happens on consoles.

* UPDATE * It has happened to me over 6 times now, so some people are lucky and only get it once or a couple of times, others not so lucky it seems. In & Out of photo mode has fixed every single time for me.

Crazy this is still happening. Recently picked up the game, on chapter 3 and have had the white screen 3 different times now, always after I pause to bring up menu/map. I've been saving and reloading to fix it. Good to know the camera option seems to resolve it from the posts above.

It's mostly a RTX issue and it usually pops up for me if I mess with settings or alt tab.
It's almost always been a rtx issue.
Just pause photomode, exit photomode. It's not the engine it's our cards ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out on us.

I read that it also happens for some people on ps5, both Remake and Rebirth. It isn't clear why some people get it but others never do. It's probably a bug from the game rather than anything to do with our hardware.

was happening to me too.

The first time, I finished the fight somehow, saved, and loaded my save and it was back to normal.

Happened again and it resolved itself when I told Cloud to use his Limit Break.

Both times happened in the Sector 6 area while doing the optional quests there.

Just got to Wall Market and I haven't seen it happen since. I think it has something to do with the bright flashes of light, the game flashes the screen and then forgets to un-flash it sometimes.

EDIT: Ryzen 5 5600G with RTX 3050.

im wondering if it could be related to forcefully disabling the dynamic resolution. but id need more info whether other people who have this issue did the same tweak

I did not tweak anything graphics-wise other than asking the game to run on 1440p (which is native) instead of the 1080p it auto-adjusted for.

EDIT: Oh, and I turned Shadows down to Low.
