Cutscenes are really laggy
Is this normal for the cutscenes to be this laggy? During the gameplay, I don't really notice any stuttering or lag and the framerate runs pretty smoothly for me at 60 FPS. It's only during cutscenes where things can get really slow and lag behind.

I'm up to Chapter 4 in the game and It wasn't like this at all in the previous cutscenes, so what gives?

My specs if you need a reference:
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X
GPU: RTX 3070 8 GB
32 GB RAM

Nope, not normal at all. Maybe your codec changed?

Save your game off then try the opening title again. Is that laggy now?

Are you using SSD? Someone mentioned it fix the cutscenes.

SATA or NVMe? Because I have this installed on a SATA SSD

If you are using SATA SSD (even if NVMe is way better), you should be ok. I mean, Im playing on HDD (lol). I only had problems with the intro cutscene and the Zack cutscene, the rest were ok. So your problem is somewhere else.

If you mean 30fps on movies, it is (annoying) standard.
TV and some movies are still 30fps.
So some Japanese developer use 30fps like movie effect and cut some data.

I personally don't like that.
Original PS4 version is 30fps on game play, so it does not change so much. But when game play got better fps, 30fps movie looks unnatural transition.

My laptop was $900 bought 3 years ago, same GPU but very much inferior CPU. No lag issue on cutscenes.

Well I'm not sure about that though, because most of the cutscenes I've seen were normally 60 fps, it's only just now I'm noticing lots of lag.

Like just recently when the ghosts are attacking Tifa's bar, the game lagged pretty heavily at that point until I got to gameplay where it was ironed out.

Though come to think of it, the game itself can't decide what framerate it wants to be either. When I was at the part where Cloud goes with Biggs and Wedge and fights all those Shinra soldiers and Roche, the custcenes (and sometimes game) would dip down to 30

I run a 1070 TI I rolled back the drivers no graphical stutter.. yet I get audio stutter..

I update the driver back to the current new one graphic lag on cut scenes and in the slums
anything else it is fine.

Pretty damn strange

SE and their typical laziness..

One person had to actually request on reddit for nvida to create a driver update to help stabilize their 2070 and 3090 last year.
(guy ran the game on two machines experienced it right off the back)

I dunno if the 1000 TI nvida series might need the same thing

but strangely I plugged in a 1050 TI and the game ran no damn stutter or anything ran smooth did not install any driver updates then when I installed a present update for the 1050 TI it then began having these stutters

So seems like SE screwed up their lackluster PC port job.

The game is picky and selective on VGA's cause of the DX12
though the 1070 and 1080 TI vga cards still being more powerful than the newer ones today really makes no sense I threw in a request to Nvida to create a driver update for the 1070 and 1080 TI cards hopefully this will help cause I did throw in the etl file on my end

Man somehow I have a 240hz monitor but running anything above 60fps just stutters and tears like crazy. What a pain in the ass. This company is such a ♥♥♥♥ show. Everyone dogs on EA and ubi (rightfully), but somehow square is some kind of messiah because they made good games 20 years ago and live off that ♥♥♥♥, all the while re-releasing games like this as 1/3 the original story, charging more, and dogging PC players with Epic exclusives and waiting years for a ♥♥♥♥ port.
