The PS5 isn't special it's the equivalent to a mid-ranged PC. Heck the system I'm typing this reply on has an nvme ssd on it that is larger/faster than the one on the PS5. What the PS5 does have going for it is marketing. If anything they'll get a timed exclusive because marketing. That simple.
Pretty much this.
Sony is full of bs in this regard, just like most corporations. They are only interested in promoting their platform. You don't need to believe for a second that any PlayStation has something that PC cannot.
For FFVII, I actually have found that I've forgotten nearly everything about the original. I thought the remake was adding a lot of new locations only to replay the original and find that places like the construction zone with the palm shaped cranes existed already, but when I was replaying it, all I remembered was the stupid log that looks like it could be on one level of terrain, but is actually on another. Then there are a bunch of dialogue segments I didn't remember existing, and the entire Shinra headquarters. I'd forgotten so many details I honestly started questioning if I had ever really played the original. So, the remake still manages to be exciting to me plot-wise because I've forgotten so much of it.
But, with releases so far apart, I feel like I should just replay the original instead of waiting, and I wish I felt more patient about it.
The biggest Tech channel on Youtube being Linus Tech Tips have tested this and the damage done to the cards are so small that you won't notice a difference unless you run unlimited FPS in all games. Even then it was like maybe 5 or 10 FPS or so when the FPS where up in 400+.
So no a 2060 would not perform better than a 3080 card that's been used for mining. Besides miners might even be under volting the cards so that they are not worked so hard and can be used for longer.
The Sony ssd is already only Mid at Best.
consoles are for little kids and casual gamers. Real gamers use the PC. Real gamers can afford to own a PC. Last console I bought was just to play the FF7 remake then once I finished the console ended up in a box somewhere in the attic or something but I don't really care here it is because I am now back up to the PC. I mean wouldn't the initial cash return be more if it immediately went to PC? Aren't more FF7 fans now mids 30s or older who own PCs? Anyone I know who owns a console is my 15 year old cousin and some kid at work who is like 20 who only plays Madden...As someone who grew up on console it just can't compete with PC.
