Put a little thought into the question and it should be obvious. Would YOU work for several years for a free update or for a low-cost DLC? Of course not.
You are getting a full game. Well it's a bit more due to Yuffie DLC being part of it. The average completion time on this game is higher than it is for Final Fantasy 7 on the PS1 for just Part 1. You're gonna get your monies worth in with these parts.
You couldn't just read store description or search the forum to get one of 2000 threads that already covered the exact same question?
This is not a 1:1 remake, either, but actually a technical sequel occurring after the original events (minor spoiler, Sephiroth goes back in time to alter the course of events and his defeat, episode 1 is very close to Midgar section of the original for the main events but starts to diverge at the end and will likely continue to diverge in episode 2).
You're not paying 10x the price for 1/4th the game. The original cost $49.99 USD when it released (on a PS1...) while the remake episode 1 cost $59.99 on the PS4. The PS5 version and PC version both come with Integrade DLC on top of the next-gen upgrades and thus cost $69.99 USD due to the additional DLC as it does not offer just the PS4's base version.
Further, you're not looking at 1:1 as I stated so the three episodes will compose three full games worth of content (its like comparing it to FF7 + FF8 + FF9, not just FF7 only in terms of content). Based on the progress we've been seeing and what remains to be covered it is entirely possible the next two episodes are likely to be even longer, not to mention their more open world content vs Midgar's linear experience. They're adjusting the order of locations visited due to divergent events but they will include every single location of the original in the remake they said. They have also considerably beefed up proper presentation of everyone aside from Cloud & Aerith (whom are excellent in the remake, too) as they weren't as well shown in the original, with a particular shout-out to how well they handled Barrett thus far.
About the "full game as in play hours" for me if you take the first mission back on FFVII, stretch all the maps that you had to walk through, make the character fall a few times to face some different enemies with the backup of the cutscene, sure you can stretch the part where you would take 5mins into a few hours, that doesn't mean it is a full game since you're only wasting time doing something longer for the sake of spending hours. A full FFVII game must have everything the original FFVII game had AT LEAST. If Square wants to add something else, its on them, congrats but unless you make the game true to its origins it won't be a full game.
For those who actually took the time to answer my question, thank you, now I know the full game will cost me 1050,00 which is almost 100x the price it was back in the day, so I'll probably have to wait 10 more years to get the game at a decent price, thank you. I did search the answer on another 5billion posts on the internet, but none of them had the precision that Xelane and Xengre had. Thank you both.
This is a full HD Remake and not only that they add more to it. Things that where not told before.
They are not dragging it out. They are fleshing out the story and telling you more stuff about it. They show you more stuff about it as well.
So part 1 on FF7 Remake is longer than the entire FF7 game was back in the day.
The original maker of the old game is working on this series too.
350x100 is 35 000. Your claim that 1050 is 100 times more pricey than 350 is absolutely ridiculous.
Don't know where you learned math but you really need to brush up on it.
If you want to wait a decade to buy the game you can do so. Or you could have gotten it when it was on sale for $56 on Steam store.
At that time I'm sure you'll have a job and then spending $56 once every 2 year for the game on Steam? Not much of an issue.
I don't think it's fair to compare FFVII Remake to OG FFVII. It's not just a next gen graphics overhaul. If you've seen gameplay and dev interviews you probably already picked up on that. If not, you should probably play the game...at least 2x :)
Seems like a fat lie if it's separate purchases for 3 parts.
Part 1 is called just that FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE which is why it state the full game is in it. The Steam version is also named Intergrade because it adds the DLC to it but it contain the original full game.
Part 2 will be named Rebirth so that too will be listed as "Full game" when it's released on Steam.
I started looking these forums because I thought the wording meant all parts (because for 80€ that sounds reasonable) but wanted to make sure. And now I've seen few threads where people ask a legitimate question and fanboys crowd around foaming in their mouths to say that "OF COURSE a game called REMAKE, sold as FULL GAME, at like 140% of normal new game price isn't actually a full remake but a silly marketing buzzword to lead people off. How could you even think otherwise?"
All of them and even you fail to grasp that this game is over 40 hours long on a normal play through. It's a full game and it doesn't end on a massive cliffhanger.
You also get the Yuffie DLC which adds several more hours as well.
It's priced $80 because it's the full game and Yuffie DLC.
This is also full remake of the entire game with so much more being added to it. They are almost done with Part 2 because this game was released on PS4 and PS5 before on PC.
Part 3 probably isn't half way complete.
Original FF7 took around 34 hours on average to complete and you could push it to 50+ to do most things. These 3 parts are going to triple that time by minimum.
It's not misleading, it's you just ignoring things.
Seeing how the other two parts are not even released it'd be a bit silly to think you'd get them as well. For just $80.
If it said something like Final Fantasy Remake Collection like Halo did with their Master Chief Collection you might have had a point but not now.
