As for the old version, not hard to find either.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/39140/FINAL_FANTASY_VII/
That's the same graphics and looks as the PSX 1997 version though. That doesn't look like a remastered/remake. It looks like a ported PSX to PC, and someone said the PC version was released 1998 so why make another release to PC of the exact same game when there already is a 1998 release(?) Confused?
Also, if this is Part 1, of the "Remastered" FF7, what game was the 2020 PS4 release, if not remastered? I mean. what is different between this release and the 2020 PS4 release?
Part 2 is currently scheduled for console release sometime late 2023 and will be titled "Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth" Hopefully a PC release will come not long after that.
What is so hard to grasp? This is the first of the series, the other two releases coming later for the remake.
So if you want to play the original remastered version of FF7 you need to play the 2020 PS4 remastered version.
If you want to play a new DLC sidestory thats never been released before for FF7 you play this 80 euros Steam game, that is a part 1 of a part 3 series (and if each part is 80 euros each, that is 240 euros for a full game)? Am I correct?
1997 = release of the original FF7 on consoles
1998 = release of the original FF7 on PC
2012 = release of an updated/remastered FF7 on PC
2013 = release of the 2012 version on Steam
2020 = release of "Remake", which is part of the new Remake / Rebirth / Re??? trilogy
2021 = release of the PS5 version of the 2020 version with updated graphics and DLC
2021 = release of the 2021 version on Epic Store as an exclusive
2022 = release of the 2021 version on Steam
So if you want to play the "remastered" version of the original game, you have to take the 2012/2013 version, which happens to be the version of the original FF7 available on Steam.
The 2020 release is the same as this game minus the Intergrade DLC. If you just want to complain about the price there are plenty of discussions you can join already doing that.
Yes THIS IS ANOTHER remake, not the only remake, which have been told here many times, and it's not an remake, it's a NEW game with a DLC like another guy here said.
So if this is the 2020 game with an added DLC; how is this part 1? Then the 2020 is clearly the part 1, if this also have an DLC (extra content) on top of the 2020 game, it should be part 2. (part 1 from 2020 and part 2 with the extra added content in this 2021-version-released-2022-on-steam)
Anyway, I want the upgraded graphics version of the game. Not the PSX 1997 graphics.
I'll just take it as THIS and the Epic store game is a ported version from the PS5 game which in turn is a upgraded DLC version from the PS4 version.
So, my question is, can the PS4 version be played on the PC? Or have it been released, or possible to play it on PC? (I am talking about BEFORE this game released on Steam AND Epic).
No. The PS4 2020 release is THIS EXACT GAME minus the "yuffie" DLC.
It has been released before, it was released as part of the PS5 upgrade, you could either buy the DLC and your PS4 version gets upgraded to the PS5 version (I believe) or you could buy the PS5 version which is this exact same version you get on Steam or Epic
There hasn't been a "remastered" version of Final Fantasy VII, there have been many re-releases and ports with "enhancements" as in "cheats" to make the game a little easier (although it really wasn't that hard) and you can buy these for most modern consoles (Switch, Xbox One, PS4)
The one linked above for about 10 euros? (I see it in GBP so £9.99) is the original PC release, just ported over to Steam with some extra bells and whistles, like a character booster, cloud saves, and achievements, Its still not a remaster, just a re-release.
The only way to really play the "original" is to play the PSX original from 1997.
A remastered game is is a revamped version of the older game, with better graphics, audio etc. Sometimes remasters have additional content, but the base game is the same.
A remake, is the game being recreated from the beginning; the game is recreated, and can be significantly different than the original game.
FF7: Remake is based on the original but it has different graphics, gameplay and presentation. Not only that, but the story turns out different than the original.
Some people say that FF7:Remake is more like a sequel, and they are not wrong.
