This game is so disappointing

Bought this on Epic games. I am incredibly disappointed. I loved the original growing up, the story the gameplay. and i know this game is not a remaster, but a full remake and separate game entirely.

But seriously squaresoft took how long to make this? and they did such a terrible job, they changed the story, and the gameplay. but thats not even the problem, the problem is they did such a half ass job making this game, since release they have fixed a lot of the resolution issues, but everything else in the game is so half assed. take the npc's for a good example, in both japanese or english voices the npcs and main characters lipsynce is all out of wack and looks terrible. the english voice acting is absolute ♥♥♥♥ for every single character. and the personalities of the female characters are cringe af they over act.

sqaursoft should be ashamed that they even thought it was ok to release such a half assed game.

Its pretty much Final Fantasy VII but in 3d. You may like the changes and new story beats more or less but females always behaved like this in japanese anime and media...

the graphics arent the problem, its the absolutely terrible voice acting, character personalities, and out of sync speech with mouth movments. the ambient chatter of npc's in the world is pretty annoying too.
i noticed a lot of reused npc animations that just looks terrible. like, you will have 5 npcs standing next to eachother all moving in the exact same idle animations.

I am certain there are dozens of other halfassed things like these in the game.

I will go the extra mile and say this is a work of art, like every detail in the game was put so much thought and effort, I've never seen any game that can compare.

The only way you'd be disappointed with this game as someone who played original back in the day is if you NEVER read anything about the game and bought it blindly.

You seem to acknowledge this is a remake and not remaster and in the same line you complain its a remake and not remaster, make your mind.

Hell, the "problems" you've chosen to complain about are peak nitpicking, so at least you are self aware enough to know there really isn't anything serious to complain.

I absolutely love the game. Beautiful grahpics. Very good atmosphere, Midgar feels so alive compared to the original. Enough hints that the story could take a very different way, which makes the playthrough interesting. The voice acting at least in the german version, is absolutely fitting the characters. For me it's one of the best remakes ever done. It doesn't make the the very good original obsolete because it's a whole different game in the same setting, which is also very cool.

I appreciate quality, this game is lacking in quality massively. thats why im so frustrated, the lack of quality, i am shocked how ignorant you are to the issues in the game.

English (or french) voice acting on a japanese game are ALWAYS horrible!

I disagree, the side quest design is really poor so anyone expecting more than basic mmo tier fetch quests is going to be disappointed in that aspect.

What do you mean by quality? The visuals, audio, animations, cutscenes, spectacle, and general presentation are very high quality.

Also on that topic, i'll give you that the girly girly moaning JRPG girl syndrome is annoying, but we're far from say, Vanille for example
As a game artist and animator in particular though, FF7R has by far the best animations out of any Final Fantasy game it's not even a contest
Controlling characters is fluid, and they even cranked it up a notch with Yuffie because as much as i like to slow walk around as Cloud or Tifa, Yuffie is contagious and makes me just want to run all over the place

And Yuffie doesn't have the moe syndrom either so she's a win/win, weirdly enough since she's the actual teenager

If only they handled the camera and targeting better during battle it'd have been almost perfect

You don't have to love it, you're entitled to your opinion, but a lot of the arguments flying around are simply false
