Looks likes save files are in Documents>My Games>FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE>Steam>(a series of numbers, not sure if it's the same for everyone).

Saves files are .sav

Can't you just overwrite previous save files? Correct me if I am wrong but the game I think only lets you have about 10-12 unique save files.

Still nice to unclutter a big mess of save files. I'm really only ever comfortable having one or two at a time, so I get the desire to delete them.

I also wish there were a way to disable auto-save. Maybe there is, I don't know.

I used to do that too, but then I learned time and time again that I should always use a fresh save as often as I can to ensure I am able to return to a previous state without starting over if a game breaking issue occurs, save file corruption occurs, or if I just want to experience a specific scene/area/boss or movie again with ease.

This is always a good idea, as I've definitely found necessary with Bethesda games. But even still, I only ever kept three saves in rotation.

For this game when I first played it on PS4, I only ever kept alternate saves if there was a point (like trying to get the achievement for the first bike race) that I knew I might need to retry. On my current playthrough, I'm not too worried about having to redo things. If I mess something up, I'll just try it again later. Or wait for chapter select. This isn't that long of a game in comparison to something like Skyrim or Fallout.
But I'm just someone who doesn't like dealing with a bunch of clutter. Having a big list of save files to sift through bothers me.

That's a completely fair statement and like I said, I used to be the same, Just saying in my experience, I'd rather keep those valuable hours of my life and deal with a list that I hardly ever see. The convenience of keeping backups far outweighs the inconvenience of sometimes having to look through a list of older saves.

If gaming is as big a part of your life as it is mine, you will eventually learn this in time the hard way, like I did.

Yep, 100% especially for BGS games. Thankfully they have helped removing the clutter a little bit in recent games by having a separate save list for each character, but honestly, I have been dealing with save lists for years now and it bothers me less and less as the years go by.

Well Im currently up to 17 unique save files in my folder, and theres nothing to indicate I cant keep going with more, so Im not sure why you may think youre stuck at 12

Its 30 saves (+1 autosave) limit in this version.

Yea, no delete button in UI. But you can do it manually in Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE.

There is no need to disable Steam cloud. Just start the game, alt-tab, delete or rename (to move between slots) saves and close the game. It will sync your changes to Steam cloud.
I want to do a fresh start, I delete all saves files from Documents/My Games/FFVII Rebirth/Steam/############. But even though I delete them, my saves are all still there in the game. Why do they have to make it so complicated just to delete a few items.
