There is a hardcore mode in which the buttons fade away and eventually almost disappear completely.
It took me a while to get this challenge too, but you'll get it eventually. Since then every single time I have tried it I haven't failed it once.
you just keep pressing the buttons in the same order over and over again, and very slightly increase the speed.
my guy, you are overthinking it, i promise each match the buttons dont change or anything.
just take the buttons you press at the beginning of the match, and keep doing that over and over again.
Also op, here is the aforementioned Rock Band 4 mode I was talking about.
I recommend a watch, because it will make the FF7R minigame seem like a piece of piss afterwards XD

Squats is easy af, pull up challenge is another story.
- Keeping a rhythm, try doing the "1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4" in your head.
- When the button prompts disappear pay attention to when Cloud/Tifa stop moving, that's your queue to press the next button in the order.
Even though the button order in pull-ups is randomized each round you should still have time to see the order and the shape you're moving your fingers around in is always an hourglass like shape (assuming you're playing with controller)
you and others complaining about that had best avoid games that use QTE design then.
