When using Windows' HDR, I change my TV's black levels to LOW. For SDR mode, I use NORMAL (HIGH on some TVs).
Low black level makes the color more vivid and vibrant, but breaks dark scenes. With HDR, this doesn't happen, at least with my TV.
DX11 breaks this game's HDR, so make sure you are using DX12.
I hope this helps.
if your LG has a color gamut setting set it to auto detect. Do not set it to native or your Display will dispaly everything in wide color gamut which oversaturates all SDR content.
The hdr is really great for the most part, handcrafted specular highlights are very noticeable. Only real issue is overused fog as it really messes up the black floor and muddies colours in so many areas, it's a design choice to give the city a "polluted" feeling.
Fogless areas look perfect in comparison.
Microsoft released a HDR tool. Maybe it will help. I know it helped a lot in general with having HDR on for my monitor.
